One for the Money Two for the Show

"Great honorable Ra. We have your next guests." Someone said. Jade didn't hear, didn't feel as Ra let go. She bowed as she was dismissed into the crowds.
It was minutes later when she realized that she was alone again. No one she knew nearby. Glass of something fruity and alcoholic in her hand. Topped up by servants dressed in not much or nothing at all. Plates of food passed by held high, everything you could dream of. She could smell meats and sweet breads, roasted nuts and perfumes. The heady mix was making her feel nauseous.
She looked around for anyone she knew.

Anubis arrived at his room after sending a message to Seymour on their current status. As Anubis entered the door he saw Jaxx still covered up in his armor talking to Evelina in a sheer black harem outfit. Anubis froze as he stared at her beautiful features. Anubis was overwhelmed by the flashbacks of his time with his Evelina and her death at the hands of Ra. Jaxx woke Anubis from his trance with a waving hand as he said, “Dude what are ya doin?” Evelina asked, “Who is this person Jaxx?” Anubis opened his helmet as he looked at the two of them and said, “My apologies Mrs. Stone I am Anubis. I am an alternate version of your friend Jaxx. Ok we don’t have much time to get ready. So here is the plan, Evelina will walk behind you as your servant when I escort you into the palace. She will carry a ceremonial pillow to carry whatever weapons stuffed inside it. On top of the pillow will be this Digital Itinerary Pad since Jaxx is pretending to be a representative from the shark god. Once you are introduced you bow as so. (Anubis demonstrates the bow.) Then you will be escorted to your seat. Jaxx will sit as Evelina will either kneel by his side or serve him to keep up appearances. Once all hell breaks loose you will head for the exit next to the gold statue of Anubis and escort your crew out as soon as possible. Now the guards will be there and spread out so they will be disorganized at the beginning so take advantage of that.”

Jaxx and Evelina looked at Anubis and then at each other with concern. Evelina asked, “So why am I dressed like this again?” Anubis looked at Evelina affectionately before saying, “Oh I almost forgot. You need to put this fake device on your arm so they don’t suspect.” Anubis pulled out a device that looked like the one Jaxx just removed. Jaxx took the device and put it on Evelina as she said, “Jaxx are you sure about this?” Jaxx replied, “We like don’t have many options Eve babe.” Evelina was not approving of the mission but gave in to her role. Anubis hugged Jaxx and whispered into his ear, “Jaxx protect her with your life my friend.” Jaxx was confused as Anubis turned away to Evelina and hugged her as he whispered to her, “I know he can be difficult but please bear with him.” Evelina looked at Anubis with a puzzled glance.

Anubis helped the two prepare for the ceremony and then carried their bags as they left his room and snuck into the halls and through a secret passage to the exit by the gold Anubis statue. Then Anubis hid the two backpacks in the shadows, before escorting Jaxx and Evelina all the way around to the entrance of the ceremony. Anubis led the way for Jaxx followed by Evelina and her ceremonial pillow. Anubis, still covered in his armor and jackal mask, paused as he bowed before Ra as he was announced. Then Anubis stepped to the side as Jaxx, who was still covered up in his MACO armor and fins proudly displayed, as he bowed before Ra. Evelina, who was still in her sheer black harem outfit that was decorated by some veils and some gold jewelry, bowed along with Jaxx. Ra smiled as he saw Jaxx and greeted him. Ra said, “Ah must guest of honor. Please enjoy my hospitality and tell your master that the mighty Ra will see him soon.” Jaxx nodded as he bowed again along with Evelina. Then Jaxx and Evelina left to find a table through the mass of servants and guests. Jaxx looked around and eventually saw Jade in fancy clothes and chose to sit at her table.

Jade looked nervous as she was looking around. Her eyes stopped dead when she saw Jaxx in his MACO armor look right at her and then sat a few chairs from her and ignored her. Then Jaxx used a hand signal to Evelina who stepped up to Jaxx and presented his digital pad to him. Jaxx then typed a message on the pad that read, “Eve babe please serve and tell the Doc what’s up and stuff.” Then Jaxx put the pad on the pillow and shood Evelina away as he sat motionless and watched the crowd.
