As he lifted the bowl to his lips, a raise of Jamie's eyebrow caught his eye.
He lowered it again, hopeful.
"You want it?"
The bearded man answered by quietly removing the bowl from his hands. Alex gave him a grateful nod, perhaps he knew a way out of it.
All eyes were now on Jamie.

There was a gasp of surprise from everyone, as Jamie lifted it to his lips, and drank it all in one go.
"Don't leave us! These simpletons need my ambassadorial skills, and you're the only one who can translate!" Seymour cried out from his wheelchair, unable to reach Jamie to pull the bowl from his hands.
"ish good batch." Jamie said with a smile. His eyes had glazed over a little, and he said something to the Ssala in their strange language, which sounded a little like hissing in places.
There was silence for a second or two, then the Ssala burst out laughing.
"Is he laughing?" Seymour asked. The noise was not unsimilar to human laughing, but being that they weren't human, it wasn't exactly 100% accurate to assume he was laughing.
Jamie laughed too, then hugged the Ssala.
"But... Why aren't you dead?" Everyone wanted to ask. The look of confusion on their face said it all.
"I will die in an hour." Jamie said, with a smile. "Unlesh I gets the antidote." He said, slurring his words like he was drunk.
The Ssala beckoned them to follow, as he turned around and walked towards the Generator turned Monolith.
"S'ok." Jamie said. "Theyyy have lotsh of antidote."
Soon, they were sat around a fire, and the sun hinted at setting in the distance. A smoking pipe was passed around, first to Jamie, who took a deep breath of the smoke, then lay down on the grass. He passed it on to Alex next to him, who then passed it on to everyone else, one by one.
"Much better." Jamie said as he sat up. "As far as I can tell, the smoke binds with the poison and makes it inert." He said, no longer slurring at all. "It really is an insult for visitors to turn it down - it suggests that you believe they would try to kill you. If they wanted you dead, you wouldn't have made it close enough to be given the soup."
"So, You want to do your ambassadoring now, Mr Niples?" Jamie asked.
"It's Ni-!" he yelled, beginning to correct Jamie, but stopped himself when he realised Jamie had said it right. "never mind." he added, quietly.
Jamie said something to the Ssala who were sat with them, before it all began. They all nodded, in preparation.
<Tag! What he actually said to them was "This man is an Ambassador. I'll translate for him." he doesn't know that Seymour has barely succeeded at any ambassadoring ever, so this could be funny. I've also only tagged characters mentioned in the post, to enable people to choose which "mission" they want to go with.>
