Allie covered her face pittifully as she waited. She
was terrified. The wait for the huge piece of asteroid
to be destroyed seemed to be taking hours. It was all
in slow motion.
Just then, Allie pulled her hands away from her
face. Her hands were wet. I'm crying, she realized. I
haven't cried since I was twelve.
Her eyes drifted back to the sensor screen. The
astroid piece was still falling.
She snifled. "Please hurry," she whispered.
