Shafted

Alex managed to peel one eye open. He felt like he'd been punched in the face. There was a good explanation for this, he was sure of it. If he could just remember...

"Who'dooIavetofluharhere" he attempted.
"Que?" Gomez croaked, wondering why his tongue felt like a feather duster.
Solvay cleared his throat and tried again. "Who do I owe a return smack in the chops?" He grumbled, almost normally - right accent for the first time in a while, no slurring. It was a near perfect delivery, spoiled only by a hacking cough on "choh-ho-ho-hops".
"I don't know" moaned Gomez "I don' even know who I am at de moment."

Alex swallowed as best he could, it was fairly difficult because someone had replaced his throat with sandpaper.
"Hadron in a hoistway" he forced his other eye open "why is the room so WHITE? What a bastard."

Davie's voice speared Alex and Gomez's throbbing minds.
"Did I get drunk, or did I get drunk?"
"We all got drunk, amigo. That was the plan, 'member?
"Oh yeah. Remember that. Don't remember anything else."
Gomez felt around in his pockets, eyes still closed. "Hwhat I wouldn't do for a shiny new packet of Advil."
"I hear ya" Alex remembered the powder in his own pocket and shook the thought away - better figure out what was going on before escaping it.

Davie groaned. "Did we get Legion?"
"Mm?"
"Did the plan work? Did we get Legion?"
"No' sure. Maybe."
"I say we sleep on it, Amigos. Let's nap a while longer."
"Nu nu, c'mon. Le's geddup."
"Yeh."

There was a moment of silence where nobody moved.

"Okay, on three."
"Yes."
"Si."

"One... Two... Three."

The three men sat up in unison.
Then the three men yelled in unison.

"Aaarrrghhh!" "AaaaAAaArgh!" "HYEaarghh!"

"Where the smeg are we?"
"Where's the smegging floor gone?"
"AAaaArgh!"

They were on a small, round platform. The small round platform didn't appear to be attached to anything. The small round platform appeared to be extremely high in the air, at least forty storeys.

Everything around them was white, punctuated only by doorways which sat in the curved walls.
Alex slammed onto his back. Once the world had stopped spinning he took some deep breaths, and used the mental picture of the enormous round... shaft(?) they were in to orient himself. He sat up, slowly.

Davie and Gomez were still sitting upright, staring.
"Er, dudes?" He waved a hand in front of Gomez's face.
Gomez swallowed and shook himself out of it. "Sorry. Eet's quite dazzling."
He nudged Davie. "Davie?"
I think I'm gonna- "HUuuuhhrrl" He threw up, over the edge of the platform.
"Mmf. Yeh. Heights're no fun when you're hungover."
He looked around, they were floating in the middle of the vast space and there was no way to reach any of the doors. Hmm. Could it be...
Alex lay on his belly, swallowed hard, and pulled himself to the edge of the platform. He gripped the edges and stuck his head over.

"Hmm. Interesting." The others heard him mumble.
He sat back up with a swing of his hair.
"Hwhhat is it?"
"Well, we're not just floating, this disc is attached beneath.”
Davie looked blank. Alex expanded "I think this is some kind of lift, an elevator"
"I feel about 2% better knowing that."
Alex shrugged "it's a start".

"Hokay, but how the heck did we get here? And hhwhere's everyone else?"
Alex lit up a fag "Well, that part I don't know."
"How the hell have you always got cigarettes? That's what I want to know."
"I-"

Alex's reply was cut short as the "lift" jolted. They all hung onto the edge, knuckles white, stomachs churning.
It jolted again and Alex lost his fag over the side. "Great."

"Leesten! I hear a voice!"
Seymour's clipped tones floated down to them from one of the doorways encircling the vast elevator shaft.
"I say, not sure what these buttons do, but they're bally good fun!" The elevator jerked again. “I wonder what this big flashy green one does”
Davie, Gomez and Alex looked at each other, then, as one man, looked up and yelled "NOOO!"

<How'd they end up here? How did they get split up? What happened to the others? Are they still on Legion's space station? Is it real or are they in the Cyberpark?
