Action "By The Book" - Part one

Place: In the Star bug with Major Harris, Penny Lloyd, Joe Scweeble

Time: Just before landing on Argus prime
The huge hamster shook his head again, and muttered "There's
something about this misson to capture the Piks'e Gelfs alive that
makes me feel I'm forgetting something important."
Glancing over at his 'carry on' bags that he brought on board from
his small ships stores when the orders came down, the Overgrown
hamster thought to himself "I knew all this riot gear I picked up
from Alpha Beta Far base would come in handy some day. Hmm, I better
do one more check and make sure I didn't forget anything." And he
reached over and started unzipping the first of his back while
quietly saying "Two sacks with twelve of the twenty foot
radius, 'sticky glue' grenades, Check. One duffel bag of four linear
acceleration cannons, Check. Two backpacks with 50 ammo charges
of 'knockout' beanbags for the cannons, Check. Two backpacks with 20
ammo charges of stunner nets for the cannons, Check. A Set of four
com link headsets, check. And I have my vidman with Holly 2. Well,
everything seems to be here. I, guess I better debrief the other on
these."
"Ok, everybody, Listen up! I've got some riot gear here that I want
each of you to have for this mission. First, each of us needs to wear
one of these com link headsets so we can communicate with each other
while we're site. They have multiple encrypted communications
channels, and you push one the three colored buttons to select which
specific team your going to be talking to & monitoring communications
from. I've set the green channel to send to all headsets and the
ship. Major Harris and I will use the blue channel, Penny and Joe
will use the red. Also, each team gets one sack of the 'sticky glue'
grenades, and one backpack of the 'knockout' beanbags and another
backpack of stunner nets for the linear acceleration cannons I'm
giving each of you. The thing to remember about the linear
acceleration cannons is that there's three firing velocity settings,
Low for the knockout bags, Medium for the stunner nets, and I don't
recommend using the high setting, because that tends to accelerate
the projectiles to mach 2 for only about 50 yards. The method of
operation of the cannons is near idiot proof - you open the top of
this little hopper on top, pour your projectiles in, and pull the
trigger on the bottom of the handgrip to fire. Don't use any
projectiles larger than a grapefruit or you'll risk jamming the
cannon and having it blow up in your face. Unless anyone else has any
questions, I'd like to speak with you privately Major before we set
down."
