Re: *ACTION* Jay-pocalypse now.

Even know I knew this was coming it didn't make it any easier to read. Which I
did with a tear in my eye. Andy, your last post was brilliantly written and was
a great end to a great character.
I want to thank you Andy for being a great moderator on the Blue Dwarf, I think
you've done more than your fair share of holding this community together,
helping out members when they needed it, pushing the story along, and especially
being the first to message the group when there's been a problem (you're always
good at getting there before me!).
I really hope this isn't the last we see of you on the Blue Dwarf though, I hope
once your life has got less hectic you'll be back!
Thanks for everything Andy, and good luck with your new family :-)

name it after me .

HiveWhen: Right after Efof was knocked out. Â âIâm afraid I canât let you
do that Captain.â Said Jay Chrysler. He stood over his target, who was still
crouched on the ground next to the bomb and yanked the katana from the
bombâs casing, sparks following it.âYouâ¦â Jay said, looking up at
Efofâs attacker, âButâ¦youâre deadâ¦you HAVE TO BE DEAD!ââWell
yes..â replied Evil Jay, âI was dead. Quite convincingly too, I have to hand
it to you, crashing the Blue Dwarf into my flagship was a pretty good way of
guaranteeing the job was done the first time around, more fool me for letting
your dead wife do it a second timeâ¦.I had hoped youâd been killed in the
explosion too, but never mind, it just means I get to do it myself!ââHow can
you be here?â Jay asked, as he shuffled backwards across the floor.âYou
should know better than anyoneâ Evil
> Jay ââ¦sit still pleaseâ¦â he kicked Jay in the face as Jay tried to
shuffle away, knocking Jay flat on his back. âI, or rather, the original
âmeâ was connected to the hive mind. After you killed me, my mind was left
dormant within the hive â" as you are no doubt aware I took over your body
after you were connected to the hive and blew up the earth and all thatâ¦I
really do wish you hadnât gone back in time and undone all my hard work, it
was very frustrating..ââGet to the pointâ Jay replied, wiping blood from
his nose.âThe point is, even after you took back your body, I was still in the
hive. So long as she existsâ he pointed to the Queen âI will exist, all it
took was a tiny piece of your DNA that we took from you when our agents
infiltrated your ship and voila! A clone body is born!ââAnd now?â Jay said
âYouâre gonna lead the âbugs to take over the galaxy again are you?
Please, even if you kill me here, the rest
> of my crew wonât rest until youâre stoppedâ¦havenât you learned by
now? The Blue Dwarf crew NEVER loseâ¦.ââPlease. Theyâre only in this
region of space because of you, the minute youâre dead theyâll all go back
to their pathetic livesâ¦until theyâre extinguished at least.âHe raised his
sword, and pointed it downward so that itâs sharpened tip was pointed at
Jayâs throat.âI would love to prolong thisâ¦.â Evil Jay said âTo see
you suffer as I kill you slowly and painfullyâ¦but Iâm afraid I canât take
any chances this time..youâve proven yourself much too bothersome in the
past.ââYou talk too muchâ Jay said as he threw a handful of sand, scooped
off the chamber floor into Evil Jays eyes, momentarily blinding him, Jay jumped
to his feet, kicking Evil Jay in the chest as he did so, making him drop his
sword. Jay ran around his counterpart, and skidded to the ground near Efof, and
started slapping him in the
> face âEfof, come on man, wake up, weâve gotta get outta hereâ¦âOut of
the corner of his eye he saw Evil Jay scoop to pick up his sword from the floor,
so Jay grabbed one of the rifles Efof had dropped and aimed it at his duplicate,
a clicking noise told him that heâd picked up the rifle that Efof hadnât yet
reloaded. He reached for the other one, but he was too late, and Evil Jayâs
foot came smashing down on the back of Jayâs hand, before Jay had even had
time to scream, Evil Jay grabbed him by the collar, lifted his foot from his
hand and hurled Jay effortlessly across the room where he smashed into a rock
and slumped to the ground.âI really wish you hadnât done that!â Evil Jay
snarled âNow my eyes are watering!âJay groggily lifted himself off the
ground and noticed something ahead, a thin membrane covered one of the
ground-level tunnel entrances and Jay could just about see through it into what
lie beyond. He mustered all his
> strength, and dashed, as fast as he could across the ground and burst through
the membrane into a Hymenoptera shuttle bay. He looked around quickly, trying to
find something, anything, that he could use as a weapon. The room was filled
with, mostly, Hymenoptera support craft, nothing that would be of any use â"
Amber was the only human whoâd ever been able to fly Hymenoptera ships, but
there was something different, Jay ducked under a Scorpion class fighter, and
emerged the other side to see what it was. It was an Earth ship, resembling a
Starbug, it had been modified with some Hymenopteran weaponry, but it was still
unmistakeably an earth ship.âOf course!â thought Jay âItâs HIS personal
shuttle! He thinkâs heâs better than bugs, heâs too arrogant to use one of
their ships!âHe yanked opened a tools locker on the outside of the ship and
grabbed the first thing he found, a plasma cutterâ¦it was better than
nothing.Evil Jay burst through
> the membrane into the hangar. Jay quickly clambered onto the top of the
Scorpion fighter heâd scrambled under before and ran across the dorsal hull,
leaping off the top of it and kicking out, landed on Evil Jay, sending him
tumbling to the floor, Evil Jay dropped his sword again, but Jay also dropped
his Plasma cutter in the impact, so now, straddling his doppelganger and pinning
him to the ground, he grabbed him by the collar and smashed his head into the
hard ground repeatedly, Evil Jay flailed around for a few seconds, but managed
to get his bearings enough that he could deliver a blow to the side of Jayâs
head, knocking him off him and sending the Captain rolling across the floor.Evil
Jay got to his feet, but Jay was lucky enough to have landed near to the dropped
Plasma cutter. He reached for it, only for it to be shot away from him as he
stretched to reach it.He looked back over his shoulder, Evil Jay had grabbed
Efofâs other rifle and now
> held it one handed, aimed right at Jayâs forehead.âThe gun is such a
clumsy weapon..â Evil Jay mused âIt has no style, no eleganceâ¦.I do
loathe themâ¦butâ¦we need to to make the best of a bad
situaâ¦.â*THWOCK*Evil Jay slumped to the ground. Efof stood behind him,
clutching the second rifle all four arms.âEfofâ¦â Jay said âI never
thought Iâd say this but youâre my hero!âJay struggled to his feet, and
limped back through the membrane into the Queens chamber.âWe came so
close..â he said to EfofâIt canât be used?â Efof askedâThe timers
bustedâ¦itâd have to be detonated manuallyâ¦â¦ââHopefully Rosette will
get her bomb in placeâ¦â Efof saidJay said nothing. He just stared at the
bomb.âCaptain?ââNo.â Jay said âNo, we canât leave this to
âhopeâ. We came here to do a job, and weâre gonna do
itâ¦ââCaptainâ¦what are youâ¦ââEfofâ¦they took your world from you
too, everything you
> knew and loved taken by themâ¦.I canât let them do that to anyone
elseâ¦ââBut you saidâ¦ââI know what I said, it has to be detonated
manuallyâ¦.yes, Rosette or one of the other teams might make it through, but
weâre herenowâ¦weâve never had a better chanceâ¦âJay walked over to the
bomb. âEfof, theres a shuttle through there that youâll be able to flyâ¦get
out of here, and pick up as many of our people off the surface as you
can..ââWhat are youâ¦ââjust goâ¦Iâll give you 10 minutesâ¦âEfof
nodded, and turned to walk away before stopping and looking back at Jay
âCaptainâ¦for what itâs worthâ¦thanks.âJay nodded, and Efof left.Jay
listened as the shuttleâs thrusters kicked in, and it took off.ââ¦so this
is it thenâ¦â Jay said as he slumped down next to the bombâ¦and waitedTen
minutes later, his watch beeped reminding him it was time.He turned to the bomb
and removed the casing from itâs detonation
> controls, all he had to do was switch a couple of wires and it was all over,
he swallowed hard, and using a key, clumsily cut through the wires, wired the
first in place. As he was about to attach the second, which would detonate the
bomb however, he felt a bullet enter his back.He watched as  it burst out of
his chest on the other side, and blood filled his throat.âI would have waited
an eternity for thisâ¦â Evil Jay said, Efofâs rifle, that he had procured
earlier smoking. Â He walked over to Jay, the rifle trained at Jayâs head the
whole time âItâs over Chryslerâ¦ââNEVER!â said Jay, and with a last
ounce of strength, swung round hard, connecting a double handed punch with Evil
Jayâs jaw, knocking him backwards and to the floor.Dazed, Evil jay began to
climb back to his feet and reach once more for the gun, Jay, spun around and
reached for the last remaining wire andâ¦â¦  Everything went dark.   The
planet shook, as the
> nuclear bomb detonated at itâs core. The tunnel entrances of the hive
flamed as the explosion moved along the tunnels, escaping anywhere it could like
an erupting volcano.Across the surface of the planet, and in the space above it,
their hive mind gone, the Hymenoptera justâ¦.stopped. Across the galaxy,
Hymenoptera simply ceased to be.Their ships shut down and drifted, their
soldiers fell, their queen, the very core of their hive mind was gone, and with
it, so were they. Â The Hymenoptera race, were gone. Â Â Jay opened his
eyes. The sun shone brightly down on them, so he had to squint to see, in front
of him stood an attractive woman, with long blonde hair.âHello Jay!â she
saidâWhoâ¦where am I?ââMy name is Annie.â She said âThis, is one of
the many, many dimensions that make up the multiverse.ââWhy
am I here?ââThis is the dimension where the good people come, when their
mortal life is overâ¦ââYou mean Iâm dead? This
> is..heaven?ââItâs had many names over the millenniaâ¦â Annie said
âBut yes, Heaven is acceptable, and yes, youâre dead, that is to say, your
previous life is overâJay looked around, everything was white, except for a
tall golden gate, that swung open.âTheyâre all there Jay, waiting for
youâ¦âJay looked through the gate, beyond it he could see Vanessa, Jayne,
Phil, Dean, Tara, Katrina, Alotaâ¦that was gonna be awkwardâ¦everyone he had
ever loved and lost was there, standing in a lush green field, in the centre of
which stood a tall tree.Jay looked back at Annie, and wiped a tear from his eye
and stepped through the gate.He hugged each of his friends and family as they
greeted him.  âWell guysâ¦â he said, âLetâs see what this world has to
offerâ¦â  And with that, the group began walking off into the distance until
Annie could see them no moreâ¦..  The End  <OOC:  Well guys. That, was
without question the hardest
> post Iâve ever had to write. I donât know how many of you saw it coming
earlier in the storyline, but this will be my last Blue Dwarf post â" at least
for the foreseeable future. I donât think itâs any secret that Iâve been
struggling to find time to post in recent months, probably longer. Life is
moving quickly, with it becoming harder and harder to fit everything that I want
to do in, and in July, Iâll be becoming a father for the first time. As
excited about this as I am, Iâm also extremely anxious, and I know that Iâm
going to find it even harder to find time for Blue Dwarf, so it seems only fair
that I leave. It was a very hard decision to make. Iâve been a member of Blue
Dwarf now for over ten years, and have been a moderator for nearly all of that
time. Itâs been a huge part of my life, (Iâve been a member for almost a
third of my life in fact) but it is simply time to move on. We see it often,
where members leave without
> ever saying goodbye, and their character go forgotten. I couldnât do that,
I had to give my characters, especially Jay, a proper send off. Lets face it, he
was never going to die peacefully in his jeepâ¦I mean sleep.  Itâs been
great fun guys, and I want to thank each and everyone of you, and all past
members for making it such a great experience. I wouldnât have been her for a
decade if it wasnât for all of you. Â To Onion, Becca, Smandy, JHXMT, Chris
Kentlea, Chris Harris, (and others Iâm sure) Iâve known you guys for years
now, longer than many of the people I know in real life (including my wife) and
even though Iâve never met any of you in the flesh, I truly value the
friendships weâve built over the years, Â I especially want to thank Onion, as
without him there would never have been an opportunity for me to get to know any
of you. Â This all said, I couldnât cut Blue Dwarf out of my life completely,
I will remain on board as a
> member, just so posts can still find their way to my inbox and I can read
them when I get a free minute, but I will of course, relinquish my moderator
powers, and to all of you, my email and facebook inboxes are always open
(andy.longman@...) Â Who knows, I might one day grace your inboxes with a post
again yet, but, if not, I hope youâll all remember me, and of course, Jay.
Anyway, Iâm getting emotional now, so Iâd better sign off.  Stay Frosty
guys. Love you all. Â Andy/ Jay>*
