<snip>Justin abseiled down a rope into the abandoned horticulture deck and joined the rest of the team. This deck was where fresh fruit, vegetables and crops were grown for the Red Dwarf's long journey through space. It contained acres and acres of farmland, under special heated bulbs to maintain the perfect growing conditions. After 10 years of low power and leaking radiation, the crops had started to die and shrivel up. Jay lead them through a field of tall dried wheat "Look out for anything hiding in the field." He said.
"I think I saw this in Jurassic Park 2." Justin said, then thought he saw something moving to his left, he stared at the tall wheat which was gently moving from the breeze from overhead fans. "It's nothing." He told himself. </snip>"I hope you realise, I'm only here to gauge your competency level for the job of security chief. Under normal circumstances, I'd not need to be here, but since you were originally a stowaway on the ship..." the inspector said, making notes about everything she did. This made her edgy, wanting to go overboard with security and discipline."No one goes anywhere alone, at least two security to each group of others. I'll stay with the Captain to coordinate." She said, sticking close to Jay as she'd said, her rifle in hand."I don't like having someone watching me all the time." she said, keeping her eyes on the wheat field that could harbour any number of dangerous creatures. If it was anything like their arboretum, there could be anything from dinosaurs to freshly evolved alien monsters inside."I know, I hate it too." Jay replied, hoping their mission went well enough that the inspector would be happy."Just do what you do, and it'll be fine." he added, before following the group. Unfortunately, their next target lay on the other side of the field, so they'd have to traverse it to get to the next shaft."Same to you." Rosette said, moving a little further ahead to get to the security officers that were at the front of the group."Pull back, if there is anything in here, we need a tighter net." she said, then moved back."everyone still accounted for?" she asked, and began to check the group over.a resounding chorus of a haphazard and lazy "here." came back, but Efof's foot stood on a rifle from the Blue Dwarf. He picked it up as if it were his own, but then realised he was the pilot, not a security officer."Rosette! I found a gun." he called, and passed it over."Smeg. we're down one already. There's something in the wheat." she said, hoping it wouldn't be able to pick anyone else off...<Tag>
