Bell doing his part
The orders had come from up high. The science department was supposed to assist
in scanning the planet's surface for gelf. Bell was going to put all his years
of tinkering with electronic and building gizmo's to work. He set out and
searched the entire ship for the parts he needed for the brilliant idea he had
come up with.
Bell sat in front of his pile of wires, circiut boards, and contraptions and
went to work. The main body of his machine was as long as compact car and
sleek. It was made of a solid metal compound that was as strong as steel but as
light as aluminum. He attatched two hover stabilizers to each side. He toiled
over it for hours until it was finished.
Bell had created a mobile recon drone. It was based off a design that one of
his old professors and he had created before he dropped out of college. It held
a camera that he had "borrowed" from the security department that was capable of
not only operating in normal light but had nightvision as well. The circuitry
also allowed it to pick up heat signatures(after all, what good is a recon drone
without infared?). It would be able to fly a few hundred feet off the ground
and send the information back to the Dwarf, as long as it remained in orbit.
"Camoflauge!" Dirk needed a way to conseal the drone. He worked on it for a
few more hours, making touch ups. After a while, the hover stabalizers were
decorated to look like wings and the antennea to look like a beak. "Maybe
they'll think it's a bird."
Dirk then called FeBuggure in to show off his creation. The away team can
launch it when they go down to the surface, and we can monitor it from up here."
what da ya say phil?
