Pancake: "You don't know what it feels like"

They activated the Starbug, which hummed with life. The engines fired, and the
Starbug rolled back around onto it's landing struts, crushing several Mollopods
who were in the way. Then it rocketed into the sky, back to the Blue Dwarf,
leaving Mollopods with their hunger for Humans unfulfilled.

Who: Justin Pancake and Seymour
Where: In the Starbug
When: Before they got back to the Blue Dwarf
The Starbug was being piloted by Kara McGellan, a pilot who hadn't been involved
in many missions for a while and was glad to be of some help. John the
grey-skinned Plasmoidian went up into the cockpit to watch the spaceship being
flown.
Seymour and Justin sat in the Starbug's midsection, both sitting in chairs on
opposite sides of the room. They sat in silence, and the air was thick with
tension between them.
Justin stared at Seymour. He fumed with anger. It was Seymour who hadn't got to
Blub in time and stopped him from teleporting away. Seymour probably could have
stopped him from killing the girl he fancied, but didn't.
Seymour felt Justin's eyes burning into the back of his head. He hated Justin
for taking a bazukoid pistol and firing it at Queen Brittany. The moment ran
over and over in Seymour's head, the moment when Brittany's stomach burst open
with the blast and she fell to the floor. In his mind's eye, Seymour remembered
Justin stood with the smoking pistol laughing.
He couldn't bring himself to look Justin straight in the eyes. He couldn't
forgive him for what he'd done.
After a long time, both men couldn't remain silent for much longer. It was
Justin who talked first.
"You know... she was the first girl who had ever really liked me." He said.
Seymour didn't bother even acknowledged that he'd spoken.
"You could have saved her." Justin said. "But you let her die."
Seymour's head snapped around quickly. "Would you mind awfully not talking to
me. I don't speak to murderers!" He paused and added. "She wasn't your
girlfriend anyway, you'd only just met her."
Justin nodded. "Yes, I know we'd only just met. But we'd talked and I felt
this... connection. You know how sometimes you know you're meant to be with
someone. You have the same things in common, you think on the same level... it's
funny, it wasn't until after she'd gone, I realised how perfect we were for each
other."
Seymour's face softened. Then he scowled and turned away.
"When I first saw her in the strip club, I assumed she was a skanky hoe, but
when I got talking to her I realised she was really lovely. She was absolutely
perfect. But now..." he sighed. "Now we'll never be together. Ever."
Seymour folded his arms and continued to look away.
"It's really hard for me." Said Justin. "Not many girls like me."
"I wonder why." Seymour said to himself out loud.
"That's why she was so precious." Justin said. "She trusted me. She told me
that. She was going to show me where she lived. We were going to spend the
night. Now it'll never happen. Ever. We'll never have sex, we'll never get to
rolling around naked, laughing, we'll never get to fall in love, I'll never get
to do romantic things for her, I'll never get to tell her honestly how I feel
about her."
Justin glared at Seymour, who was looking away and pretending not to listen.
Then he slapped his hands down on his knees in frustration. "Gah! You don't even
understand what I'm going through!"
Seymour looked down underneath the seat to find an in-flight magazine. The first
magazine he picked out was FHM, it opened to a full page spread of Queen
Brittany.
A tear rolled down Seymour's cheek and onto the glossy photo. "No." He said. "I
don't understand what you're going through."
Justin sat in silence throughout the rest of the flight, and hoped he still had
a job when he got back to the Blue Dwarf.
<OOC - Tag to Seymour, OR to Captain Jay. I know Justin has been a bit of a
baddie and probably should loose his job but I've got an idea of how he could
keep his job. Email me if you want to join me for a JP>
