Rosette - "Land of Hope and Glory"
This is a response to "Ding Dong's Glory Hole"
<snip>
Ding Dong shook his head. "So your Hymenoptera friend over there..." He pointed
to Rosette. "Is she single?" He licked his lips.
Justin nodded. "Yes, but she has a bit of a thing for the Ambassador on my ship.
I don't think it's going anywhere though cos he's such a pussy. So she's pretty
much single. She might not be insect enough for you though." Justin joked. Ding
Dong grinned, and went over to introduce himself to Rosette.
</snip>
Rosette was taking the 'recreational time' as an excuse to get some more sleep.
The last few months with the insect taking over had really taken it out of her,
and made her want to catch up with all the missed sleep. The noise going on
kept her awake though. As she rolled over, she gave up, and made a move towards
the gym, hoping to find something to tire her out to the point of not being able
to stay awake.
"I hear you're part Hymenoptera." Said a deep, burly voice from behind her. She
turned around to see the large muscly man known as Ding Dong.
"No, I'm not." She replied, and turned to continue to where she was going. Ding
Dong placed a heavy hand on her shoulder.
"I know how to see Hymenoptera, and I can see some in you." He replied. "Your
eyes give you away."
"My eyes? whats wrong with them?" She asked, but there wasn't a mirror in
sight. She had to accept what he'd said, and assume he really did know.
"What does being part bug have to do with anything?" she conceded, "I left that
part of me behind. It's all gone as far as I'm concerned." She said, pulling
his hand from her shoulder. It moved relatively easily, considering the size of
the man. He seemed shocked that she was able to remove it so easily.
"Heh. You're stronger than you look. I likes that in a girl." He commented,
and tried to move closer. Rosette took one step back, and changed to a fighting
stance.
"You didn't have a chance from the start, you know. Leave now and I'll let you
keep that deep voice of yours." She threatened, with an evil grin. Ding Dong
took that as a challenge, and advanced on her. Since his Hymenoptera pet had
escaped, he needed a new plaything.
With one smooth movement, Rosette spun around him, kicking him in the back as he
powered onwards. Old laws of physics state "a body in motion stays in motion".
The kick in the back gave him a little extra momentum, as he rammed into the
railings overlooking a 3 storey drop to the hall below. Rosette gave him one
more swift kick, sending him tumbling over the side.
"damn pests..." She said, returning to her journey towards the gym.

"Hmm... I think this will work now..." Rufus said, holding up a collection of
the tracking beacons. They were all crosswired together in a way that looked
rather dangerous, even for someone that knew what they were doing.
