Seymour finished talking to Whitewolf, and a rather stern and official looking woman approached him. She did a salute which seemed to go on for a long time, but she cut it just before it started to get tedious. She obviously had a lot of practise at salutes.
"Console Officer Allie Fletcher reporting, sir." Said Allie.
 
"Ahh right," said the Commander looking around at the many consoles in the high-tech room.
"Which one?"
"I beg your pardon sir?" she asked.
"Which console?" we have so many. "Alotta Viagra here is at the communications console..." Alotta stopped making general gossip through the ship's private comm channels and waved.
"This is Kayn, at the navigation station." Kayn quickly stopped playing space-invaders with the flightstick and put the ship back onto manual control.
"Hi!" he said.
"And this is...... well, this is the sensor station- but there doesn't seem to be anyone here. let me check...." Niples asked the giant hamster.
*whisper, whisper......."but what about is we have a huge metiorite in our path...or astrometric distortions or something...?"
The hamster shrugged.
 
Niples turned back to Allie. "Well, Ashley is supposed to be monitoring this station- but I think she's gone off to dry her nails or some other thing that girls do- so you can look after her console until she gets back."
 
Allie tried to protest but Niples had quickly turned his back and left.
 
"He must be a busy man..." she wondered.

  Allie didn't attend the karaoke competition. Sheheard about it, but thought it inane and decided she'drather study, alone, in her quarters. She'd had enoughfun for one day.  Allie made her way up to the Command deck. She hadto report in, after all. While she was there, shecould make her complaint about Holly.  She tapped someone on the shoulder. "Hello? I'mlooking for the Commander."  The person pointed to a gentleman talking tosomeone.  "Thank you."  Allie adjusted her suit, and walked over to him. Heturned, staring at her.  Allie did a salute.
