Drat - missed it!

<Stewie's>
-----Snip-----
McKenzie's wasn't too busy, she found, so she looked around for
someone that worked there. She found a guy with a name tag. "Zack
Richards."
"Hello?" she said to him.
He smiled politely. "Can I help you?"
"Yes, I'm looking for some holoclothes," Allie
explained. "Preferably red or maybe green to match my eyes."
-----End Snip------
Zack smiled. "Ah, yes. Were you looking for something formal?
Or more casual?"
Allie thought for a moment. "Probably casual. Is there a
display?"
Zack's smile widened. "You're in luck. We actually have a pre-
programmed fashion show with models that display several items in our
holo-line." He reached one hand stealthily into his pocket and
flipped open the cover to Cubie's controller. Cubie popped up next
to him, wearing the dress she was planning on sporting at Parrots
that evening. She looked momentarily confused, but when she saw
Allie, her eyes narrowed. "Who's she?"
Zack started wondering if using Cubie as an impromptu holo-model
had been a bad idea. "She's a customer looking for holoclothing."
Turning to Allie, Zack turned on the charm. "And here we have a
stunning evening gown, suitable for most social occasions." He
twisted the irritated Cubie around. "Note the low-cut back, and the
mid-thigh slit. The color, of course, is a radiant spectrum spread,
but it can easily be programmed to match your accessories." Whipping
the now silently outraged Cubie around again, he continued. "Note
the bustline, and how the dress accentuates your body's natural
curves. A beautiful woman, in a beautiful dress."
Cubie's frown softened.
Allie frowned. "No, I don't think so. I'm looking for
something a little more . . ."
<Back to you, Allie - sorry for the delay>
<Parrots>
Zack and Cubie entered to resounding cheers. Zack blushed and
started to bow when Cubie whacked him on the back of the
head. "They're not cheering _us_, you moron. They're cheering . . .
oh, smeg!"
Zack followed Cubie's gaze to the huge hamster hooting,
hollering, and doing a poor rendition of the Macarena. The bar,
which was absolutely gigantic on the inside, had half the crew
standing at their tables and clapping.
The bartender stepped up next to the hamster and tried
unsuccessfully to retrieve the microphone. The hamster leapt away,
only to be brought short when the mike's cord went taut.
Cubie shook her head in amazement. "Is _that_ Commander White
Wolf?"
Zack nodded. "I think so. At least he's the only six foot one
hamster I've seen scampering about."
Cubie sighed. "I need a drink."
They headed to the bar, where Owen had just returned. "Two
beers, please."
Owen slid two bottles down the bar at them. Cubie looked around
at the assortment of people in the crowd. "We're really skimming the
shallow end of the gene pool here, aren't we?"
Zack shrugged. "Oh, I don't know. Everyone seems nice to me."
Then his eyes got big as he spotted something over Cubie's left
shoulder.
She frowned. "What?"
He pointed and whispered hoarsely, "Air hockey!"
Instantly they were on their feet, weaving through the crowd.
Zack couldn't believe his eyes. "I haven't seen one of these in
years!" He stuck a hand out toward Cubie. "Gimme a quarter!"
Cubie rolled her eyes, then dug through her purse. "Here,
wonder boy. But I get first serve."
"Done!"
The game began in earnest.
