*Action* - "The wrath of the Pulmonater"

Who: Jay, Drive-room
Where: Drive-room, Blue Dwarf
When: Just as the Pulmonater destroyed the Hymenoptera hive-ship
<snip>
An intense beam of energy shot up from the planet's surface, searing into the
Hymenoptera ship's hull, and tearing it open. The bean cut along the length of
the ship until it reached the engines, which ignited, exploding and sending
white hot debris in all directions.
"What was that?" Jay asked.
"It came from the Mollopods. I'm picking up a massive weapon signature...it's
currently reloading..."
"What else do they have to fire at?" Phil asked.
Jay looked at Phil.
Phil looked at Mk.10
Mk.10 looked at Jay.
"They've retargeted the weapon sir...at us..."

"How long do we have until it fires?" Jay asked, clearly annoyed.
"Fifteen minutes maybe?" Said Phil.
Jay slammed his fist down on the desk. He knew they couldn't fire back and they
couldn't move. Jay looked around the Drive-room. As Captain, it was now up to
him to make the decision that would save the ship.
"Jay. I mean... uh... Captain... what do we do?" Asked Phil.
Jay couldn't think of anything. A few moments of silence followed, until Jay
snapped his fingers and said "Jayne! She's on the planet. She could disable the
weapon." he pointed to Janis Cooper, who used the communications computer to
dial Jayne's mobile phone.
"Jayne. This is Jay, we've got a problem here. There's a weapon down here just
about to fire on us. Are you anywhere near it?"
"We're really close Captain Chrysler." Said the voice, but it wasn't Jayne. It
wasn't even Efof or Micky. "In fact we're standing right next to it. I can see
it charging up it's gun for another shot."
"Who is this?"
"My name is Delvroso Captain. I'm arresting your people for conspiring with the
Hymenoptera."
"What? That's.... that's ridiculous!"
"Oh really? We detected a signal coming from your ship specifically telling the
Hymenoptera that our planet is unprotected and for them to come and destroy us."
"That wasn't-"
"Consider the alliance between our people terminated Captain. We no longer want
Hymenoptera conspirators as friends. Not that I'm too upset about this, I can
start looking forward to eating fresh Human meat again!"
"But-" The communication was cut, leaving Jay's explanation unheard.
Phil saw how annoyed Jay was, and didn't really want to say anything. But he
knew he needed to. "Jay. We've only got twelve minutes now."
Jay looked out of the window for inspiration. Luckily he found it. His eyes fell
on a large asteroid which was spinning slowly off their starboard bow.
"That asteroid. Can we move it in front of the ship so that it blocks the beam?"
Phil looked at his watch.
<OOC - Tag to anyone who wants to take up this challenge. Can you move an
asteroid in front of the Blue Dwarf in time? And how? >

Who: Jayne, Micky, Efof and Delvroso
Where: Mollopod planet
When: After Jay's phonecall
Delvroso slid Jayne's phone into her pocket. "Can I have that back please?"
Called out Jayne. "I'm on contract."
Delvroso shook his head. "Too risky, I'm sorry."
Efof struggled but the handcuffs they'd put on his four arms were really tight.
"What are you going to do with us?"
"First... prison. Then..... a banquet for the Apophallationmaster perhaps. He
hasn't had Human in a long time."
Efof scoffed. "He tried to eat me once! Then I escaped."
"Well I'm sure he'll be glad we found you again." Said Delvroso. Then aimed his
transporter rifle at each of them in turn, and they all disappeared.
Moments later in a haze of spinning blue particles, they materialised in a
prison cell somewhere else on the planet.
"You okay?" Jayne asked Efof and Micky, and they both nodded, but looked
worried.
Efof them pointed into the corner. They weren't alone in the prison cell.
<OOC – Who's in the prison cell with them? And how are they going to escape to
stop the Pulmonater?>

Who: Kara McGellan
Where: Starbug, flying towards the planet
When: As the Pulmonater is recharging
Kara's starbug glowed red as it barraged down through the planet's atmosphere.
On her radar she could see the Pulmonater, but she wasn't sure she could reach
it in time before it fired it's next burst of energy.
"Holly. Arm weapons!" She said.
"Why?"
"Pardon me?"
"Why?" Said Holly. "What's the point? It's a very very large robot snail with a
very very hard shell. Your weapons won't even make a scratch on it's surface."
Kara shrugged. "I might get lucky."
Holly bit his lip. "Yeah, I doubt it though."
Kara pulled her Starbug up and brought the large snail in her sights. It was far
bigger than she ever had imagined.
Something she didn't anticipate happened though. As well as the large beam
wapons sitting atop the giant snail's shell, the Pulmonater also had many
smaller weapons meant for dealing with pesky smaller targets in the vicinity.
Several machine guns popped out of holes in the shell and started firing. A
barrage of glowing energy headed towards Kara's Starbug.
<Tag Kara, don't destroy the Pulmonater just yet, it has another function just
after this!>

Who: The Apophallationmaster and The King of Little Cheftonia
Where: Paradise City
When: Same time
The Apophallationmaster and the King of Little Cheftonia watched the replay of
the Pulmonater destroying the Hymenoptera ship.
"This is an excellent weapon!" The Apophallationmaster agreed.
"Yes... however it does have a small drawback..." Admitted the King.
"Oh?"
"Well just a small thing really.... " Said the King. "But when we tested it,
something always happened after the second time it fired."
"After the... second...time...?"
"Yes. It always went beserk and started heading towards the nearest city, with
intentions to squash the entire city into rubble."
"But... we're in the closest city you fool!"
"Oh it probably won't happen this time. And it's miles away, and travelling
really really slowly."
The Apophallationmaster wasn't pleased.
