jay byrd... dead?
[ooc first off i'd like to say sorry for using annie, i know she has
some higher purpose, but jay byrd will probably at this rate...]
who: jay byrd [body on floor], annie
where: hall
when: about 45 minutes after he fell
annie was walking blue dwarf to clear her mind of jed. she was so
distracted that she nearly tripped over the body lying on the floor.
something wasn't quite right about him. he didn't feel like he was
really apart of this time frame, but she didn't have time to really
ponder it. he was dying. after her last run in with death she
wondered if she should save him at all. she would shrug and with a
simple wave teleport the body to the medi-bay, they could deal with
him there.

jay's lifeless body fell with a thud making everyone in the room jump.
dr. keto recegnized jay from before and hurried over to check the
body. no pulse. he did a more through check. no signs of life. jay
was, as it would seem, dead...

when: long ago...
jay walked down the dock. it stank of stale beer and cheep fuel. he
was supose to meet a guy there, but no one had shown. he had waited
several hours and had decided to leave.
as he walked down the dock he didn't notice the young boy on a hover
board riding up to him. the boy was young and not very good at it. he
tried to call out to tell jay to get out of the way, but jay was far
to zoned out. the boy slammed into jay with a great deal of force, jay
fell forward falling into a pile of trash.
the fall did knock jay out of his trance. well not really the fall,
more the broken piece of tubing sticking into his chest. the tubbi ng
had ripped into his chest and shredded his heart. jay would have died
here, jay should have died here, but fate was on his side, at least
this once. the boy had a com-link on him and called for help, combined
with a retired doctor nearby jay managed to make it both to the
hospital and through the surgery. his heart was replaced with a
bio-tech one.
it was this simple piece of fate that would save his life later, when
all hope was lost...

jay took a deep breath and opened his eyes. dr. keto fell flat on his
ass. jay had been dead... he had been dead for about 3 minutes
altogether. jay was rushed into the OR, within seconds he was put
under and dr. keto had him open. a collapsed lung, a crushed kidney,
and enough internal bleeding to make the mess all the worse. jay would
need yet another gift of fate to pull through the night...
[ha ha i cheat, but did you really want jay to die? i mean come on]
