The Running Man

Who: Micky
Where: Long Pointless Corridor
When: Just leaving in search of Jayne and some much needed answers!
Micky was running. When he thought about it, probably best to slow
down. He was still concussed, slightly drunk and was holding one of
the grenades he liberated earlier from the armoury. With a monster
on the loose, he couldn't be too cautious. At the same time, he
didn't want to stick around and be left for bug bait.
So he slowed down to a steady jog.
He heard footseps. Lots of them. As he neared the air duct, he
pulled the pin from the grenade and held the trigger in. He always
did want to be the hero that saved the world. Then it dawned on
him.
"That's dripping water." He thought about trying to put the pin back
in, but decided it would be quicker to throw at any moster that
should come his way. This was a big mistake.
The cover from a nearby vent was thrown across the corridor with a
massive bang. A huge black widow clambered out, carrying numerous
bits of electrickery and wires.
Micky was amazed. Stunned. Couldn't move. Realised he was holding
a primed grenade. Still couldn't move.
The huge spider tore off another vent cover without even seeing Micky
and started to climb inside.
Micky came to his senses and pitched the grenade overhand at the
newly open air duct.
Naturally, he missed, and the expolisive bounced back in his
direction.
"Oh bollocks," he said as he turned and ran the other way, "this wont
be pleasant!"
The explosion threw him off his feet, face first to the floor. He
heard a screech behind him and knew the monster was behind him. He
rolled over ready to face his death when the beam fell from the
ceiling. It was twisting metal he heard.
Twisting metal however, that had collapsed around him and now had him
trapped in the long pointless corridor.
There was only one exit, and he didn't really feel like climbing
inside an air duct behind the Hymenoptera.
"Holly?" He wondered if the computer just couldn't hear his
screams. Maybe Erik had got to work on re-booting him and done
something wrong.
"HOLLY??" He shouted as loud as he could, then slumped down against
the wall. Well, he was definately alone.
"Nobody knows I'm here." He realised with terror.
He felt a sudden resentment for Jayne and Holly. Or was it his own
stupid fault for getting involved in the first place?
Either way, he was definately going nowhere soon.
