OOC - New crewmember "Jay Byrd"

Hello everyone, I would like you to meet new member Justin Dee
Shifley, who will be playing character "Jay Byrd", a bartender in
Parrotts bar on the Blue Dwarf. I hope it won't get too confusing
with two Jays onboard!

Character's Physical Appearance

5'10" straw blond hair, baby blue eyes, tall and thin with a light
frame, almost looks like a stiff breeze would knock him down. he has
a dazed nonchalant look about him. his clothes are often wrinkled and
his face could always use a shave. he walks with a limp and uses a
cane to make sure he doesn't fall on his face.
Character's Personality and Interests

jay is a fun loving free spirit. the word hippy comes to mind, but
not quite. he's good with tech, but hate's relying on it so much. he
loves cooking and mixing drinks. he's been on more drugs than most
hospital cancer patients. he loves animals and keeps a few mice as
pets. he loves to read as well and spends a lot of his spare time
with a book in his hand. he has many hobbies ranging from board
games, puzzles, to holo-matrix programing. the only real problem is
his drug usage has left him with a short attention span. he jumps
from topic to topic without ever stopping for a break. he can play
guitar quite well, but as that he hasn't been able to afford on in a
long while he doesn't get in much practice.
Character's history/background story

Jay was born on the lunar colony and from a young age hung out in the
wrong crowd. he started drugs before he was even 10. he got in to
running drugs from planet to planet when he was 17. when he turned 20
he was marooned on a small moon with a band of what would have to be
considered space pirates. it was here that his skills stilling
alcohol came in handy. he perfected his own type of alcohol and
learned to mix quit well. they were only there for a few months, but
they stayed nice and drunk. by the time he turned 21 he had gotten a
job on a cruise ship and was mixing drinks for a living. he stayed
with that job for nearly 3 years before he quit and worked in a bar
on the outer limits of space. when he turned 25 he again returned to
the stars. it all went south from there when the ship he was on
suffered a system failure and he narrowly escaped in a small shuttle.
for the past 6 months he's been adrift in space in a small space
shuttle surviving off something like military rations.
