Jayne:- Clone-frontation

A lot had been on Jayne's mind since the multiple blue dwarves incident. She'd been slowly recovering from her torture at the hands of a twisted version of William Shakespeare over the past few weeks and still had trouble sleeping.
Jayne had grown up a tough chick, well, if grown up is the right term for a five year old clone who was a fully developed adult human female from the day she first became conscious that is. She'd tried to take over the ship, lived on the streets, fell in with gangs and tried to take over the ship again before switching sides, and yet after all that she still let herself get captured and tortured by the enemy.
She'd also been thinking about Lester, the strange cybernetic man who had rescued her from the Hymenoptera before. She'd never gotten the chance to thank him properly before he vanished without a trace, she hoped it wasn't the last time she'd ever see him.
To top it off, her mentor, Jay had done a disappearing act along with Phil and Dean and she felt, quite frankly, useless. What had happened to her? She used to be able to hold her own, but since joining the crew and becoming a pilot she'd lost something, she didn't know what, but she didn't think she'd find it flying shuttles. She was genetically identical, but so so different to Jay. She had known nothing but conflict, strife and struggle her entire life and her new life, while a happy one just didn't feel exciting enough. Jay had had a lot of adventure while he'd been a pilot, but it wasn't the same for the cadets, and did she always want to be in his shadow? She didn't think so, and this was why she was heading to see Chris Harris to request a transfer to his department. Security, now that was where the real action was.
She rounded a corner, turning into a corridor somewhere in the cargo decks and headed toward the express lift at the end, she hummed quietly to herself, as she often did when she was alone. She stopped humming for a second as she pressed the button to call the lift, but somehow the sound carried on in her ears.
"Weird..." she shrugged and went back to the lift. The humming noised continued...wait..it wasn't humming, the closer the sound got, the more it sounded like.....like.....a kind of clicky-hiss...she turned around nervously, to find the end of the corridor blocked by a giant, salivating black widow spider which upon seeing her screeched loudly.
Jayne pulled out her pistol, "now this.." she said to herself "is more like it....."
<Smandy, fancy a ruck?>
