Dysart, Kara- 'Pit stop'
Who: Dysart, Kara
Where: In transit to JMC station Alpha
When: 15 minutes after previous post
Kara regained consciousness with a start.
The traces of a migraines in the far corners of her mind, her eyes
drifted slowly around the room. It was pretty obvious that she was in
a star bug, the co-pilots seat to be precise with the gentle hum of a
well-kept engine purring in her ears. A harsh clinging sensation was
felt around her shoulders. She looked down and immediately noticed
that she was bound to the chair with so many ropes that her body
resembled a blue, white, and brown caterpillar.
"Ah, Lieutenant, you're awake. Hope those migraines haven't been
bothering you too much." A voice off to her left stated
apologetically. Her eyes snapped on Dysart as his shivering hands
guided the green shuttle through the clusterfuck of primary coloured
ships and debris.
"...Urgh... you really know how to treat a girl. First you shoot her
then you tie her up. What do you do on a first date? Shove a grenade
down her shirt and push her off a cliff?" Kara back talked angrily as
she fidgeted in her chair. The pilot gave a heaving sigh and turned
back to her.
"Look... I'm sorry okay? I...I was really scared. When I accidentally
hit you... god I thought I was going to kill myself. When I got close
to you though..." His finger shakily indicated to her thigh. "You were
fine, if unconscious. I've been hit by a laser before, you don't just
shake off a wound like that."
"Then why tie me up?!" Kara pushed and she began to actively pull
herself free.
"Because one of you two is the real Lt Kara McGellen, and the other
one is a kill-crazy sociopath. I went out on a limb and decided to tie
up the invincible one just in case." Dysart reasoned with her in a
monotone while he weaved through the other craft.
"Wait... what did you do with the other...well... the other me?!"
Kara's voice hiked up an octave, her head twisting around the room.
"Don't worry, she's not going anywhere. She fell over and cracked her
head open. Major concussion. I dropped her into the Medi-bay in the
back with Keto and had her sedated... then strapped down... with sheet
metal. She's not going anywhere." He explained off handily. Dysart
squinted at the edge of the quarantine zone, with a few clicks he
switched off autopilot and stood.
"Don't worry Lieutenant, I took no chances... by the way. When this is
all over..." Dysart strolled over to her, his face barely inches away
from her own. Kara's eyes widened as his hand drifted up to her face
and gently touched her cheek- it was like being poked by a ballpoint.
"You tell me about this 'hard light' form of yours..." Dysart
straightened and wobbled away through the doorway.
Kara's face contorted into a bitter smirk. "I doubt you'll like the
results." She muttered morosely.
"Speaking of results." The ensign started, half turning back. "Those
migraines of yours. I checked your system... they're not due to
malfunctions in your light bee. Either it's outside interference, or
it's just phantom pain. Should the pain continue you ought to try
talking to Rufus or that Charlie-thing that's always flowing around
the armoured hairless yeti."
With that he left, soft, halting metal-on-metal clicks issuing from
down the hall as he pulled out of ear shot.
A few seconds afterwards lieutenant's face morphed into wolfish grin
while she shifted a palm-sized shard of metal back into her hands.

Dysart's legs shuffled down the access ramp with all the speed and
agility of a sloth that had overdosed on morphine.
The crew of the landing platform scrambled about, the AI couldn't tell
if they were doing their job or just hopped up on energy drinks.
A small command group moved over to meet the robot.
Taking a small glance behind him, Dysart no longer saw any reason to
continue the facade and deactivated his holo-form. His shiny but
hideously ugly frame was laid bare for all to see.
Of that group a half dozen splintered into a sprint and swarmed him,
hands folding around, touching, bracing and just generally molesting
his metallic form.
"Congratulations on your success." Jonathan Carnoofal stated smoothly
as he broke away from the team.
"Uhhh... Thank you, sir." Dysart responded politely as he could while
people poked and prodded him.
"I wasn't talking to you!" He snapped, turning slightly before
reconsidering and sparing him a second glance. "Talk to the engineers
while we evac the lieutenant- we've only just started. Your next job
will be to investigate a Blue Dwarf that had some kind of insectizoid
vassal crash into it."
With that the PR guy brushed past him and into the Starbug behind him.
Klaus shook his head and gently took him by the shoulder, leading him
away from the team. "You done good, ja? How is the body?" The engineer
spoke to him as though a son... or a puppy.
"Shit." Dysart returned bluntly. "My hands shake so much that I
accidentally shot the lieutenant."
The German shrugged and took one of his mechanical limbs. "You are the
first of your kind, there is bound to be problems..." With that he
unhinged and tinkered with his servo motors. "There... that ought to
fix most problems with the shivering. You'll move a touch slower but
it won't be noticeable after a while."
Dysart broke away from the man with a huff. "I doubt that you could
mess this body up more."
<To be continued...>
OOC: Yeah... kinda bland here... I just ran out of steam but I knew
that I had to post something! I've just kinda left Kara and Keto to
the JMC... evil twin and all. But I'll be joining up with Rosette,
Amber and Efof in a bit!
