RE: [JMC_Blue_Dwarf]

Who:- Jay, Dean, Harris, Mk.10, Rufus, Alota's senior crew.

Jay rubbed his temples as he slumped forward at the head of the conference table. The stress of command was already getting to him and he hadn't even been aboard for 24 hours yet. 
The ship hadn't even finished it's shakedown tour following it's recent refit and already Jay had had to coordinate dozens of teams investigating dozens of versions of the Blue Dwarf.
We'd seen musicals, monkeys, bottom-feeders, Dean, not to mention the reports that Dante had sent back about a ship populated entirely of people from Liverpool. That made Jay shudder to the bone.
The one thing Jay hadn't been expecting though, other than the headache that was currently threatening to crush his head, was coming face to face with his dead wife and her crew.
 
How was he going to explain this to Katrina...
 
Right now, Alota and her senior staff were arguing it out with what little of Jay's staff were still aboard.
"You honestly expect us to cut off the only way home for thousands of people just because YOU say we should?" Harris yelled across the table to his counterpart from Alota's  ship.
Alota's senior crew looked vastly different from Jays. Alota, obviously was the captain, Jay had worked out for himself that she had never been killed by his own counterpart in this universe.  
Phil was also not the executive officer, story was that he had come head to head against Evil Jay and had lost, badly. He hadn't been killed, but he was little more than a torso. Blind, mute, heavily brain damaged, all of his limbs torn from his body, Evil Jay had wanted Phil in particular to suffer. Most likely to please his queen, Phil's daughter, Amber who had sided with Jay from the start due to her bliss addiction. In Phil's place as XO, was surprisingly, White Wolf, the Blue Dwarf PRIME's ex captain. He had returned from his exile on a faraway world to held fight the Hymenoptera. Harris was still chief of security, and Johnny Goode was their chief of navigation. Both the latter two looked as though they had seen their fair share of combat. Chief of medicine, who currently sat across the table from Rufus who was representing Jay's science teams, was Tara. Doctor Keto had been killed early on in the war. He'd gone down valiantly...Evil Jay had sent an invasion force to the Blue Dwarf, Keto fought bravely...only, he was fighting Wildflower and Vanessa in an attempt to use them as human sheilds while he ran for an escape pod. Vanessa and Wildlfower both survived intact, but Keto's escape pod had been blown apart within seconds of launching due to a faulty fuel line..
 
It was White Wolf with whom Harris was arguing,
"You don't understand what will happen if he follows us!" White Wolf yelled back. "I know what will happen if we listen to YOU!" Harris snapped back.
"It's better than the alternative!"
"You want us to to strand people in a world that's not their own!"
"It's for the greater good!"
"The greater good is so that you don't have to go back to your own world!"
 
"STOP IT!" Alota yelled standing and slamming her fists down on the table.
"We're not getting anywhere!"
 
"Rufus" Jay said "What's likely to happen if we shut down the fissure in realities?"
"well...um...." Rufus started, stumbling over his words. He wasn't the best public speaker as it was, but sitting opposite his dead mother wasn't helping. 
"Spit it out sweetie" Tara said, encouragingly, which only served to cause Rufus to stutter even more. 
"Ermm...um...er,, well, erm, it's kind of, well....hard to say...." he stumbled when he realised all eyes were on him. "it could be, well, nothing...or erm, it could erase every ship that doesn't belong here from existence."
"It's worth it!" Alota snapped. "If you'd seen the world we'd come from, the world HE" she pointed at Jay as she said this "created for us, you'd do anything in your power not to go back!"
"You're suggesting we take a chance with the lives of thousands of people!" Mk.10 replied "No thanks, we don't want that kind of blood on our hands"
"Besides" Dean stepped in "You could be deleted too...."
"That's a risk I'm willing to take it if stops him destroying another universe." Alota snapped back. "None of you have any idea what he's capable of."
"Actually" Jay said authorativley "We do."
"How could you? Your world is perfect." Alota replied.
"No, it's not. Wondering why you're not around in our world Alota?, Because you were killed, because of me. The Jay in your universe isn't evil, he's possessed by his evil counterpart from a mirror universe...damn, this is gonna get confusing..."
"how do you know this?"
"Because the same thing happened in our universe! Only in ours, you died, because you freed my mind from the Hymenopteran hive! You'd been taken prisoner, forcefully entered into the hive so that we could get the defense grids access codes from you. But you joining the hive unlocked my personality that had been repressed by Evil Jay! I took back control, but I was too late to save you."
"They tried to take me prisoner too. But we fought back, in the end you got the command codes from another ships captain...." Alota said gently.
"By fighting back you probably extended the war longer than it needed to be. But never mind, I know how dnagerous he is, I know what could happen if he follows you through, but I am not prepared to sacrifice hundreds of people to prevent something that probably won't even happen!"
"And if he does?"
"Then we're all in a whole heap of shit.."

You have to close the vortex, or whatever it was that brought us here."Jay was staring hard at the screen, unblinking. It seemed that the new Blue Dwarf hadn't yet managed to get it's view screen working as it's captain didn't seem able to see him, and was repeatedly smacking the side of the screen to 'encourage' it to work.Jay opened his mouth to speak, but nothing came out. "Hello? Please respond!" came the voice of the newly arrived captain again."A......Alota....." said Jay, as he stared into the eyes of his late wife through the viewscreen."Who is this...please, close the wormhole!""If we do that, we won't be able to return anyone back to their own universe!" Presumably, in her's she had never been killed, but her version of him also never shook Evil Jay out of his mind, never took back control, presumably he went on to destroy Earth, and just got more and mor edeadly from there. Alota was therefore terrified of any version of Jay she met. Jay didn't blame her, but he thought it best to keep to himself at the moment the fact that a few years ago he too had been the one trying to destroy THIS universe, and it was only due to his Alota's sacrifice that he ever broke his counterparts hold on him..."Why don't you and crew come over here. And we'll discuss your...situation.." Jay offered "I can send repair crews over, medical supplies and food if you need it."Alota accepted reluctantly. "Fine, but don't blame me when he follows us here.""He won't, it seems only Blue Dwarves are able to traverse the whatever it is that brought you here."Jay hoped to god he was right...
