Rosette - "Special Assignment" part 4.
<snip>
"Good Evening miss. Where can I help you take your bags to?" asked a
very well dressed man. She suddenly felt very underdressed, but
nonetheless allowed him to carry her bags towards the place written on
her key.
"What's going on?" she asked.

Soon, Rosette was lying on a huge Queen-sized bed (thats a bed sized
for a huge queen btw!) "What the hell did he mean?" she asked
herself, thinking over what the overly dressed baggage man had said to
her.
"You'll find out soon enough... All i can say is that your mission
will benefit both man, and bug-kind."
"bug-kind?" she said out loud. Since she'd joined the Blue Dwarf,
there hadn't been any threat from the Hymenoptera, so she barely knew
anything about it. Deep in thought, she slowly let herself fall
asleep, waiting for the time she was supposed to get her mission.
Several hours passed before there was a loud knocking at the door.
"Wha?" Rosette asked, opening her eyes slowly. The knock at the door
came again, and this time Rosette leapt up from the bed, and jumped
towards the door, opening it quickly. The man at the door was well
dressed, even more so than the man that had carried her bags. He was
wearing a full suit, black tie and everything.
"Miss LaChance I Presmume?" he asked. Rosette had no idea who this
man was, so met him with a little caution.
"That depends who's asking." she replied.
"The Right Person In The Wrong Time Can Make All The Diff-erence In
The World." The man spoke as if English was not his first language,
as if he was an alien in disguise.
"What?" She replied, not understanding what he had just said.
"Sorry." he said, speaking in english properly this time. "I've
always wanted to say that... an old 21st Century game, you know." he
added, smiling a bit. "Shall we go? Your mission starts soon." he
said, changing completely.
"hold on, I'm not ready!" she said, moving from her guarding position
to let him in. She darted back into the room and grabbed a couple of
the bags she'd bought earlier in the day. She darted off back into
the bedroom, and closed the door.
A few minutes later, she emerged again. "Sorry, I didn't expect
anyone yet. Will there be a shower or something on the way?" she
asked, carrying a backpack. She was wearing a quite tight black
shirt, and dark blue jeans.
"Yeah, there's one on the starbug we've borrowed from the JMC." he
replied, getting a sigh of relief from Rosette.
"I'm ready then." she said, picking up her knife belt, and clipping it
on around her waist. The man in the suit lead her out of the
apartment, where she closed and locked it, and followed out into the
streets.
"So... you never said who you were." Rosette said, breaking the
silence. The man smiled again. "I'm sorry, but John Smith will have
to be enough." he replied, "so.. You're allowed to know my name, but
i'm not allowed yours?" she asked, getting a simple "yes." in reply.
They walked for almost half an hour before getting to a run down
building at the edge of the space station. "here we are." he said,
opening the door.
"What the hell?" Rosette thought, this building looked so old that it
belonged back on the surface, in some old ghost town in a western
film. "Is this some kind of joke?" she asked, not entering.
"I assure you, the front is just a facade." he said, holding the door
open for her. Tentatively, she walked in. Mr Smith entered behind
her, and closed the door, plunging the room into darkness.
<To be continued, yet again.>
