Kara, Andy - "Really now..."

Who: Kara, AndyWhere: The parkWhen: 6:45amKara closed her eyes as she rubbed her now aching head. Sympathy? For someone she hardly knew? What the hell was going on? That's it I just feel bad cause I'm getting all scared to die and all that jazz. What am I thinkin'? After all I already am dead. She thought to herself. She looked up at Andy he was keeping to himself as he walked through the park. Kara sat down and sighed. She felt so useless. She couldn't stop herself from killing hundreds at the hands of the Krylons. What the smeg was she supposed to do to stop herself? They may be making some form of headway but she knew it wasn't going to matter.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Kara's ship charged before the fleet. The space station had been warned somehow and had put its defenses up before the attack occurred.  Her orders were clear invade the station physically and destroy it from within. The fleet provided her with cover fire as she slipped her ship into the docking bay. She bolted out of her seat and grabbed a couple blasters before she ran out the door. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~'Stop! I can't! I can't do this!' Kara screamed so loud it made Andy jump. 'What's wrong? He asked. Kara looked up at him shaking. 'They're invading the space station. I can't stop it.' She replied. 'What?!' Andy exclaimed. 'I'm going to kill people. People that don't deserve it....I'm scared.' Kara said. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~The defense forces of the space station slowly approached the crashed Krylon ship. Their weapons at ready for whatever was coming but none of them would be ready. Kara kicked the door open and it smacked into a nearby soldier. She quickly charged at the rest of them guns blazing. They fired at her all at once. The gunfire sent her backwards onto the floor. She laid on the floor with a twisted smile on her face as they approached her. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~'What am I supposed to do?' Andy asked. 'I don't know. You have to find our 'contact' quickly. Get to the space station whatever you have to do. Stop me.' Kara said. Andy began to run through the park as he reached a nearby street he waved his arms about trying to snag a cab. Then out of nowhere a long dark car pulled up in front of him. Andy managed to stop before he slammed into it. The door opened revealing an empty back seat. 'Quick Hal! Into the car!' A familiar voice ordered. Andy jumped into the car and it sped off when the door closed behind him. 'What's going on here?' Andy asked the driver. 'Questions will be answered once we reach the base. For now sit back and relax while you can.' The driver said. 'Andy. I gotta tell you something.' Kara said in a stressed tone. Andy sat down and looked at her image. 'You gonna be okay?' He asked. 'That's not a question I can answer right now. But there's something else I need to tell ya.' Kara replied. She rubbed her now screaming head. Her mind was tearing itself apart. 'I'm listening.' Andy said. 'Even though I maybe going temporarily insane I was being honest about being scared. I have no one else I can trust at this time either. It's all an act ya know. Me being all tough and all. The only reason I am like this is cause I had to be. You gotta make do when you're the only woman in your class at the Pilot's Academy. Even though I am not even there anymore I can't help it. 'My dad raised me this way too. 'Don't let anyone in, even me cause everyone is gonna let ya down someday.' He always told me and I always thought that way about people. Even those I called my friends I felt that way about them. All letdowns. But not of recent I've made a few real friends. People who weren't ever going to let me down ever cause they always came through. But you, Andy, I've only known ya for a quarter of the time I've known others and you already have my trust.'Which really strikes me as odd let me tell ya. And it's not only cause I know your the only person who will save me but even from the first moment I met ya I knew I could trust ya. And since I learned a few things about ya I trust ya even more. I feel I need to tell you this cause I'm not gonna be here for too much longer. I've been loosing this battle with the Krylon control system it's consuming my consciousness. In fact now I think I only have a very limited amount of time as we speak. So what I really need to know is....can you really save me cause I don't want to die and loose what I've got now.
