Justin shrugged "Sod knows. But what if they come and camp just here? We'll never be able to get across to the other side.""We need to get across now.""Good luck, the rest of the camp is sleeping.""But tomorrow might be too late. Besides, if we cross in darkness there's less chance they'll see us."Justin nodded. "Good plan."They ran back to the camp as fast as they could and soon the rabble of survivors followed them to the bridge.

"Efof!" Jay yelled, as the blue alien came charging into the camp, all four arms flapping, followed by Justin. "What did you find?"
The captain of the Dauntless had been killed in the Krylon attack, effectivley making Jay the captain. It wasn't much cause for celebration mind you, the Dauntless was beyond repair, and the crew was made up of around 20 survivors, many of which were so badly wounded they weren't expected to live - and had Jay not taken the controls and set the ship down, albeit roughly, it's likely noone would have survived at all.
Oh...and Efof.
"The Krylons are moving this way!" Justin exclaimed "And...and I think i shat my pants..."
"Smeg..." Chrysler replied..he turned to face the camp "LOOK ALIVE PEOPLE! WE'VE GOT ENEMIES INBOUND!!"
"Commander!" Efof said
"Efof you've known me too long for formalities"
"Ok..um..Jay..."
"Yes?"
"We need to cross a rickety old rope bridge, about 3 clicks that way...to get to the transporter pads...the Krylons are going to be between us, and it if we don't move now"
"You ARE kidding right?"
Efof shook his head enthusiastically, "Would I joke over something like this?"
Jay thought about this for a second, about Efof's past attemptes at humour.
"Well...probably..yeah..."
"Yeah...you're right, I totally would"
A frown crossed Jay's face
"But I promise! I'm not this time!!! Cross my heart and hope to die, stick a needle in my thigh!"
"That's "Eye""
"I know, but the thigh hurt's enough as it is, I ain't going to go jabbing stuff in my eye! That REALLY hurts, see?..."
Quick as a flash, a big blue finger embedded itself in Jay's eye and retracted instantly.
"OW! Son of a bitch!" Yelled Jay "for the love of god Efof. WHY?!"
"I wanted to demonstrate..."
"Jesus, look at your fingernails man! Those things could cut glass, and you think it would be ok to jam them in my eyeball?"
Efof glanced at this fingernails, they ahdn't been cut in weeks and were not only very long, but also very dirty and tatty.
"Oops..."
"YEah..oops....now help me get everyne moving then lead the way to this bridge..."
*Several miles, and a good couple of hours later*
"So this is it?" Jay asked.
"Yep" said Justin
"Doesn't look very stable" Jay picked up a rock from nearby and tossed it onto the bridge, it clacked loudly onto the wooden slats, sending the bridge rocking and a shower of dust and dirt spiralling downward to the valley floor.
"Guess we have no choice though, OK EVERYONE ACROSS!"
Justin was the first to cross, stepping gingerly onto the first plank of the bridge, bringing his other foot behind the first. He froze as the bridge wobbled and creaked violently.
"You know!" he said looking back at Jay "I might have been wrong about this being the only way across! Maybe we should er...go find it..."
"You said there isn't another way!"
"Yeah, but what do I know?"
"Just move! Quickly!"
Justin turned back to face forward, and swallowed hard, "Don't look down..." he told himself and edged forwart slowly "Don't look down..." as he stepped again, the bridge wobbled again "Don'tlookdownDon'tlookdownDon'tlookdownDon'tlookdownDon'tlookdownDon'tlookdownDon'tlookdownDon'tlookdown!!!" he repeated over and over as he broke into a sprint and dashed for the other end.
He saw the end coming nearer, only a few feet to go "I'm gonna make it! I'M GONNA MAKE IT!!!! I....SHIT!!" the rope holding the bridge up snapped, and Justing hung, comically in the air for a few seconds as the bridge fell away, his legs still making a running motion, "SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii......................................................" he said, rather pessimistically.
"JUSTIN!" yelled Jay, he didn't get to express his concern for long however, as a long thick strand of what resembled a spiders web shot down from the ridge on the other side of the valley, down after Justin, wrapping around his legs and pulling him back up. Similar "webs" embedded themselves in the ground near to where Jay, Efof and the crew stood, forming a new, makeshift bridge. Over the ridge, emerged the figures of several Anti-noptera, one of which, was pulling Justin up.
"Shit...just what we need..." said Jay, as he and the entire crew drew their weapons and aimed them squarely at the Anti-noptera.
Last time Jay had encoutnered these guy's, they nearly destroyed the Blue Dwarf with a handful of ships.
"Fear not humans!" came a booming voice, and over the ridge came several more figures, Aerons, Eniram and Mollopod, it was one of the latter that was speaking.
"It would appear" he said "That we have a common foe nowadays...these machines have declared war upon all organic life in the galaxy, that, makes us allies....."

Who: Efof Yuwan'KarWhere: The planet the Dauntless crashed onWhen: Just after Justin turned up, night timeThe darkness really creeped Efof out as he walked away from the camp. He walked with a purpose however. The Ffionian was normally quite useless but today he was being trusted to scout ahead and see if there was a way to the trasporter pads on the other side of the planet.Efof looked through his binoculars, all that seemed to stand in their way was one valley, which narrowed a few miles ahead. Efof stopped to catch his breath, realising how far he had walked. He put the binoculars back to his eyes and peered through them, they did a good job of seeing in the dark.He keep a watchful eye on the enemy, the Krylons had a massive fleet of tanks, mech-suits and soldiers below him in the valley. He expected the large stomping mechanical mech suits to be controlled by a small fleshy person, which was normally it's weakness, but these seemed to be entirely mechanic. The Krylons also had large movable bases, entire buildings and command centres that they moved around with them. They were big square building on caterpillar tracks. One of the buildings he was seemed to be a factory for manufacturing even more of the robot warriors. Efof grinned, he was glad they hadn't yet spotted him. He wondered if these robots were like the Borg and just weren't interested in him unless he proved himself a threat to them. He touched the laser pistol at his side and though better of it, he didn't want an entire army of robots to attack him just yet.He walked further along and found a place where the valley narrowed. A single rope-bridge crossed right over the valley. At first this took him by surprise because he hasn't seen any evidence of any people living on this planet, and a bridge created using wire and sticks didn't look like something the Krylons would have created. He wondered if maybe the Krylons had killed the people who lived here, or maybe they had become extinct a long time ago. He also wondered if his people, the murdering Ffionians had something to do with it. A cold chill came over him as he thought of them, and how he was so glad to be away from them.He looked through his binoculars back towards the valley below him, and something made him jump."Hello!" Said a friendly but irritating voice."Erm... Hello." Said Efof. The irritating face of Justin Pancake filled his entire field of view. He lowered the binoculars."I followed you. Hope you didnt mind.""No. not at all!" Said Efof. Actually he was glad of the company, having someone else with him made him less nervous about being so close to the enemy. "So do we have to cross that?" Justin asked, pointing to the bridge. Efof nodded. "If we want to get off this planet, yes. I think it's the only bridge that crosses this valley.""Oh. Well we better hurry up.""Why? The enemy is a few miles that way." Efof said, and as he pointed he noticed a large cloud of dust coming from the valley. The Krylons were on the move, their mobile bases were powering up and moving slowly towards them."What are they doing?"Justin shrugged "Sod knows. But what if they come and camp just here? We'll never be able to get across to the other side.""We need to get across now.""Good luck, the rest of the camp is sleeping.""But tomorrow might be too late. Besides, if we cross in darkness there's less chance they'll see us."Justin nodded. "Good plan."They ran back to the camp as fast as they could and soon the rabble of survivors followed them to the bridge.<Tag, will we cross the bridge in time?>
