Kara followed Jay to her hopeful new home of the SCV Dauntless. It was somewhat bigger than she expected but you can't always judge a book by the cover especially with warships. She was very excited almost to the point where she could no longer hold it in but spazing out was quite unprofessional. "Don't worry about the captain he's a good guy. He'll like you." Jay assured. "I'll be fine. I've met plenty of high ranking officials they're almost a little too common in my life." Kara said. The captain was going over a few things with some repairmen by the ship. Jay introduced her to him and left to possibly go meet up with other possible candidates. "Kara McGellen. Top of the Space Corp prime pilots. Well before your death anyways. Since then a crew member of the JMC Blue Dwarf fighting off space scum and taking no excuses." The captain said. "Excuses can be rather annoying. Their like the little insect spawn of lying." Kara said. The captain smiled and shook her hand. "How would you feel about a new job?" He asked. "I would die again just to be out there once more." Kara replied. "Well then you wouldn't mind going back to being a lieutenant pilot then would ya?" The captain offered. "Sure only under one condition." Kara said. "What would that be?" The captain asked. "No." Kara replied. "Well until a reason for your continued run-time
is brought forward you will be put into hologrammatic stasis. The
only reason your run-time will be continued is if a previous crew
member or otherwise brings up a legitimate reason for your hologram
to remain functional." A judge said.

A few days had passed. Since Kara's judgement, not that she'd had
any concept of the passage of time. All she knew was that she'd now
been reactivated and standing in front of her was Jay Chrysler.
"Hi" he said
"Jay?" Kara replied "Smeg man, how long has it been?"
"It's been a while, I'll give you that, they want to see you again,
to re-assign you"
"What? They decided to keep me operational?"
"Yeah, when I heard they'd put you in stasis I had to come to give a
case for your reactivation, convinced them that given the current
climate we need all the pilots we can get."
"So, where are you going?" Kara asked.
"I've been assigned to a warship, the SCV Dauntless. First Officer,
in fact."
"Nice one! How'd ya wangle that?"
"Well, the Dauntless is being sent into deep-space, to seek out
potential allies in the war. They're likely to have a lot of
engagements with the Krylons, they figured they needed an
experienced officer, who can command a battle fleet, on it. When
they thought about it, we're really the only crew with any
experience fighting aliens…"
"What about the rest of the crew?"
"As far as I'm know I'm the only one going to Dauntless, my sister,
Vanessa is joining a hospital on Earth…health reasons she said,
someone mentioned she was pregnant..which if it's true me and Rufus
are gonna have words..Jayne's been assigned to the Earth defence –
she seems to know something about the Krylons, …Katrina to another
ship..gonna miss her…as for Phil, I just hope he's gonna be range of
me and a good bar…"
"Bummer huh?"
"You're telling me…now come on, you need to go see a man about a
job…."
<Sorry it's bloody short, bloody awful and bloody pointless, but I'm
at work and shouldn't be posting at all! (it's also the only time I
have to post at the moment)
