The multi-limbed alien paused for but a moment, his two left hands
snapping their fingers in remembrance before continuing. "-You're in
a coma!"

"Wait wait wait..." said Andy, trying to grasp the concept. "I'm in a
coma?"
Efof looked undecided into the air for a moment, then nodded. "Yes. I
think. I mean, I'm not a doctor. But you're laying on a bed in
Medibay and you're not moving. So yes."
Andy's brow furrowed "Then why are you here?"
Efof came up close to Andy and waved all twenty fingers in his
face. "I'm your conscience.. wooooooo."
Andy brushed the strange alien away. After all, the strange blue man
still did give him the creeps. And to have him of all people as a
representative of part of himself in his own mind didn't add up. "No
you're not. Why are you here really?"
Efof stopped mucking about "Well Ffionians have a slight empathic
ability right, so I've kind of done a bit of a mind-meld to get into
your head. And here I am."
"Empathic? Why haven't you told anyone before?"
"Because it's a useless ability! I can't think of any time I've ever
needed to use it. Remember that empathic woman from Star Trek the
Next Generation?"
Andy slowly nodded.
"Useless!" Efof continued. "I never told anyone because it's not that
useful. Sure I can doss about in the mind of unconscious people, but
how often is that useful?"
Andy shrugged. "Well very useful if you're trying to give them a
special message. Are you here to give me a message?"
"Nah. I just thought it'd be a laugh." Efof admitted, and put his
hands in his pockets and poked around in Andy's thoughts. "Mind if I
have a look around?"
Andy chased after him. "Look. You must be able to help me. Is there a
way I can... I dunno... wake up?"
Efof looked at him. "I told you dude, I'm not a doctor." he paused,
and saw the fear in Andy's face that he might not be able to wake
up. "Look. Doctor Keto just wanted me to have a look to make sure
you're not brain dead while he patches you up. And everything looks
alright in here so I'll leave you to it..."
"Wait? Patches me up? How..." he paused. "How bad is it?"
"Oh you look a total mess. Burned to a crisp. You look like the
dinner I tried to cook the other day." Efof admitted.
Andy paced.
Efof felt the awkwardness as Andy went silent. "Alright, it's not
that bad. I mean, Dr Keto has plenty of decent skin ointment."
Andy sighed meaningfully. He looked back at the imaginary version of
parrotts bar that he had created in his own mind, and suddenly they
were back inside again. Efof as well.
"Hey, why are we here?" Efof said, feeling the heat of flames all
around them.
Then suddenly they weren't in a burning Parrotts bar anymore, they
were in a burning orphanage in Australia. Adults and children were
screaming all around them, their clothes and hair aflame.
"Dude!" Shouted Efof in shock at the scene created within Andy's
mind. "You're disturbed! Where are we?"
