The Tour

Donnover led Joe Schweeble around the ship pointing out various places of
interest.
"Over there is the VR suite" Donnover said
"Why are there still so many people in there, i thought they would all have
gone on shore leave." Joe replied
"No" said Donnover "there are quite a few people who don't have anywhere to
go, so they spend there time playing 'Better than life', for the duration of
shoreleave".
"Now if you look though this window here, you can see Lieutenant Bestrom
taking his driving test."
Joe looked through the window, and immediately looked away, his face was
pale. He saw the pink tree that ran past him earlier with a suitcase, get
sucked into one of Starbug’s engines and then flutter to the floor like pink
confetti.
Joe felt the tears welling in his eyes, "that tree looked so happy earlier"
Joe whispered and then started to cry quietly.
By the time Joe had his tears under control they had reached his quarters
Donnover led him into the room and showed him around,(not that there was
that much to show him.
"Bed, locker, shower, toilet." Donnover said pointing around the room.
"Watch out for the toilet though, we had complaints from the last person who
stayed in here. Apparently at about 2.30pm 5 foot high flames shoot out of
it, we’ve no idea why but if you time your toilet visits correctly you
should be ok. If there’s anything else you want to know just ask Holly" and
with that Donnover left the room, leaving Joe with a worried look on his
face.
