Seymour + Rosette "Damage prevention"
Posted byPosted: Dec 21, 2006, 4:07pm
Who: Seymour + Rosette
Where: Seymour's (shared) Ambassadorial apartment
When: Right after Rose's last post
<snip>
Rosette emerged from her room, now fully dressed, save for still being
wet from her shower when she did, so her clothes had gotten a little
wet... which also meant that when she threw herself on the sofa, not
only did she knock all the cushions around, including a few on the
floor, but she left part of a Rosette-shaped wet mark on it.

Seymour looked round and was completely outraged by what he saw. A
soaking wet Rosette was lying on his extremely expensive and rare
`Corinthian leather' sofa. She sat there brushing her soggy hair,
which spilled all over the leather, leaving watermarks.
Seymour's eyes shot open wide as he focussed suddenly on the
watermarks. In his mind, a dramatic orchestral sounded as he looked
even closer at the damage she was unknowingly doing.
Seymour sucked in such a huge gasp of air when he gasped that he
almost collapsed, instead he fell to his knees and choked. He really
wanted to tell Rosette to get off, but the words wouldn't come out.
She turned around and saw him in apparent agony.
"Everything alright Seymour?" she asked.
"Just
. Peachy." He spluttered, clenching his fists.
Seymour waited until hours later, watching Rosette like a hawk as she
watched TV all day and ate his entire supply of kettle chips and salad
dip. He made a mental note of the mess she was making and it made him
cringe every time he saw something new.
Finally Rosette retired to bed and Seymour sprang into action. He
found lots of old blankets from one of his wardrobes and threw them
over all of his furniture.
"This should protect my expensive furniture." He said proudly to
himself as he looked back at his entire apartment. Every single piece
of furniture now had a blanket thrown over it. It looked like the flat
was either abandoned or
"Oh my god it looks like a student flat!" He said horrified. "I can't
have it like this, what if a National or Galactic Ambassador comes
around for an unexpected visit, or possibly a Political Delegate
where will I be able to serve my tea and jam scones?"
He thought for a moment, then talked to himself. "There is no point in
allowing that infernal girl's messyness to drive me to not being able
to enjoy my own beautiful furniture
I need, something else
"
He pulled the blankets back off the furniture and went out of the
apartment for a while.

Who: Seymour + Alandra
Where: Science Labs weapons division
When: Short time after
"I think I have exactly what you need." Said Alandra, who was
rummaging around for something in boxes.
Seymour stood around nervously, wondering if this was overkill. He had
barely ever had to come down to the weapons labs, and when he did it
was normally for things a lot more serious than this situation. But to
Seymour, this WAS serious.
Alandra pulled out a small shield-emitting device. "Personal shield."
She said. "Just turn it on and it will protect you from anything
hitting you, including bullets and low-level energy weapons."
Seymour took it. "Can it protect static objects too?"
"Yes, just fit it to any object and turn it on. It will cover the
object in a tightly fitting shield. A bit like a second skin."
Seymour grinned. "Thank you kindly my good lady." He nodded in
approval to her and continued back to his apartment.

Who: Seymour + Rosette
Where: Seymour's Apartment
When: The next morning
Rosette woke up and stood in the doorway to her room yawning.
"Morning!" she said chirpily.
Seymour was meticulously munching on some weetabix and carefully
scanning a very boring-looking political newspaper. "Good morning." He
said, doing his best to not let her ruin his incredibly boring morning
routine.
"Found a job yet?" Seymour hinted.
Rosette grinned. "I'll look today." She said cheekily. She always took
Seymour's quips with a pinch of salt. She assumed really that he was
only acting spiteful out of fondness.
Then she turned on the TV and jumped onto the couch.
Then she bounced off the couch.
"Ow!" she said. "What the hell is wrong with the settee?"
Seymour whistled trying to ignore her.
Rosette looked at the couch. Then threw a coaster onto it. The coaster
bounced back at rocket speed, a forcefield repelling it away.
Seymour put his suit jacket on. "I'm off to speak to some dignitaries.
Have a good day." He said smirking. Then left her alone in an
apartment full of shielded furniture.
