Dirk put down his duffel bag and shook Jacob Stone's hand. "Name's Bell. Dirk
Bell. I'm the new science officer. I'm trying to find the security office to
check in. But with the ship being deserted for shore leave, it's kind of hard
to get directions. This place is so abandoned that all it needs is tumble weeds
blowing by. Oh, there's one. Could you direct me to the Security Chief?"
Dirk thought to himself, "If you're gonna make friends, you need to start off
quick. Just keep in mind, people here don't know you or what you've done. This
is a good place to start over, and this is a good way to do it."
