"Efof Tried to Fix Me"

"Vanessa Chrysler to medi-bay" she said "We're coming aboard with
wounded, one critical, have a med-team ready"
"Got it" Tara replied, Rufus smiled hearing his mothers voice
considering the pain he was in "Only don't expect them to know where
the medi-bay IS!"

Although it was shiny and new. Tara had a really, really bad feeling
about Keto's return to the Medi-bay. Whilst everyone seemed to love
it, she knew that someone was going to be killed when he came back.
She planned on being as far away as possible when this happened so it
wasn't her. That was, until Rufus and Jay were wheeled into the
Medi-bay.
"Oh honey!" She said, rushing over to Rufus, aware that Jay was in
worse shape, but unusually trusting of Wildflower to sort him out. She
moved Rufus onto one of the medi beds and gave Rufus an injection of a
painkiller not unlike Morphine.
"Mum..." He said, smiling and going slightly lightheaded at the
effects of the painkiller. It made him feel so much better, like he
could go and run a marathon, or dance an Irish jig, even with his leg
in such a state. He felt like doing so and went to get up, but found
himself pushed back by Tara. "Efof tried to fix me. He unbroke my
leg." Rufus was finding it hard to speak in sentences like someone his
apparent age.
"Shhh, just lie still. It'll all be ok." Tara said, already having him
topless and bandaged around the ribs to begin the healing process. His
arm would heal fine and she had a cast on it within minutes. His leg
however was not looking good, it had been badly damaged and the way
Efof had pulled the bone back in place it had fractured lower down and
only re broken later. She sighed and resolved the fact that the leg
would have to be pinned if it ever stood a chance of being walked on
again.
A few hours later, Rufus was coming around from the operation. It had
gone well and now Rufus had a large plaster cast on his leg, from foot
to thigh, underneath which was a set of titanium pins holding the
bones in place so they grew. Tara was hopeful that it would mend well,
but she had a feeling that he would be left with a limp.
