"Smeg!" Jay yelled "YURI!!!"
Yuri spun around on hearing his name called and dropped to the ground, reaching into the hole where Jessie and Joe had vanished.
He pulled his arm back out "Gone...this is a deep one!!"
"Then theres only one thing for it" Jay said "We go in after them"
"WHAT?" Katrina replied "That's crazy!"
"You think I'm abandoning team members on my watch?"
"No!! I'm just saying to go down there is nuts!!"
"Watch me!"
He hooked a climbing rope around a tree trunk and tied the other end around his waist. Perched backwards over the edge of the unsually large hole he flicked on a shoulder lamp, then leapt off backwards.
He slowly swung back to the wall of the chasm, and leapt off again releasing more rope each time.
"JESSIE?" He yelled, "JOE?"
It wasn't long before he hit the floor of the chasm, it was only what 25-30 feet. They can't be too badly hurt...but where the hell where they...
He let go of the rope, and walked away from the chasm wall.
He took two steps, and the floor left him, and Jay found himself sliding down a long, dark tunnel. it spiralled, looped, and twisted. Jay scooting up against the sides and across its' ceiling on several occasions, like a giant waterslide.
The tunnel was icy, and provided little friction making Jay speed up alarmingly as he descended.
He eventually came to a stop, crashing into the bewlidered Jessie at the tunnel's mouth, bowling her over as she managed to get to her feet.
"Ouch.." she said, simply, as Joe helped she and Jay to their feet.
"Where are we?" Jay asked looking around at the enourmous chamber they were in with tunnels branching off that were tall enough for Jay, who wasn't short, to stand upright in.
"Presumably in the hamster's burrow." Joe replied.
"C'mon...what kind of hamster is 6 feet tall?" Jay asked.
There was a low growling noise from deep in one tunnel
"That" Jessie offered "Is no hamster....."

<snip>After a couple of hours drive they finally got to they highest they could goby veicle. Yuri told everyone "Ok, you need to put your climbingboots on now, were going by foot from here and itll be a hard climb!"<end snip>After two hours of walking, the group was strung out over quite a long section of the track. Yuri was somewhere near the middle, giving a running commentary to an avid Efof and a bored Vanessa, with Johnny trudging slightly behind. Joe followed just after, with Jessie bringing up the rear.As they walked, Jessie fumed silently, her mind running round in circles, stuck on one thought. She had let herself be caught! If a mere bounty hunter could capture her with no trouble, then what would happen when Sandra found her? She'd be like a rat in a barrel! She came out of her reverie to hear Yuri describing thier quarry. "The Siberian Burrowing Hamster is found only in these mountains. They are shy, but far too common, as they breed like rodents."Kevn, who was up ahead with Jay and Katrina, called back over his shoulder, "So where do we start looking then? Down the rabbit holes?"Yuri shook his head. "No. The mountains are literally honeycombed with abandoned burrows. Be careful, though. They're not very stable, and walking over them loosens the soil even more. The biggest danger is..."He was interrupted by a cry from behind as Jessie and Joe dropped out of sight, into one of the aforementioned burrows. Which had just collapsed."...falling into them."<tag.
