OOC.Re: [JMC_Blue_Dwarf] Team Vespidae
OOC. Um, can someone please tell me how my character got on the Vespidae? I last wrote that she was in her quarters and now she's heading for New Australia? Can someone please explain this so I can attempt to "fill in the gaps". Thanks, Claudia PS. Sorry if I come across as rude. It's late and I have alot of deadlines to meet.lucky_coincidence <phil_crestor@...> wrote: Who: Amber's Team (Amber, Callum, Mel, Peter and Keto)Where: The VespidaeWhen: Two hours into the
flight=========================<<SNIP>>Amber had given them a brief outline of their mission, to find someMush-a-Roo's on New Australia and collect their spores, before sendingthem back to their respective quarters and offices to gather whateversupplies would be necessary....Peter, being a pilot himself, was never one to be comfortable whenbeing a passenger. He attempted to make conversation with both Amberand Keto, the latter he didn't know very well, but both had failed -All he got from Amber was that their flight would be another 2 hoursat maximum speed, and from Keto all he had got was a snappy put downand derivative look."Anyone for travel scrabble?" he heard CK say, and holding a miniaturescrabble board. It was going to be a long flight.<<END SNIP>>-- Two Hours Later --There was a faint 'bump' as the Vespidae touched down on a small
rockoutcropping in the shadow of a much larger plateau, overlooking manymiles of plains stretching off to the horizons of New Australia. Warmair buffeted the team as they stepped outside, shielding their eyes."So what," asked CK, looking around and surreptitiously pocketing histravel scrabble, "Does a Mush-a-Roo look like?""It's about sixteen feet tall when mature and resembles something likea giant, thin mushroom..." began Keto."That doesn't sound so bad!" said Peter, somewhat optimistically. Hewas met with a cynical glare from Amber and a bitter one from Keto."...LIKE a giant mushroom," continued Keto, "Only it bounds along thelandscape on huge feet with even huger claws on them, dripping withpoison the very vapours of which are lethal to humans upon contact.""Ah.""Also, they're carnivorous, hunt in packs and like to digest theirvictims at a distance with a combination of their claw venom
and someextremely acidic spores. Acidic spores, I should point out, that weare required to harvest and return to the Blue Dwarf.""That's...bad," admitted Peter, "So what do we do?""You wake me up when you get back," growled Keto, heading for the doorof the Vespidae, "They're probably out on those plains, somewhere. Did I mention they camouflage themselves pretty well, too? Have agreat trip!"The Vespidae, however, turned its back on Keto and refused to let himin. The doctor turned to be greeted by the sight of Amber smilingsmugly, and ground his teeth."Fine," he muttered, "But just remember - if I die, or just decide Idon't like you any more, nobody's going to be able to heal thehorrific injuries that you'll suffer.""Oh come on, they're only mushrooms! They can't be that bad!"protested Peter."I didn't mean from the mushrooms," Keto murmured, but nobody heard
him.=========================OOC: Tag any of Team Vespidae! ;)
