Surprise
Who: Keto, Big Pink Tree
Where: Medibay
When: As the rescue mission launched
====================
There was a faint rustling noise from the storage room. Keto didn't
even look round, busy as he was with checking on the various patients
who were still incapacitated in the medibay.
"No, *Welsh*," he said, "It sounded nothing like 'Old Tree', whatever
that is. And no, I don't know what it meant."
*Rustle?*
"Yes, I'm sure. Now be silent, twig, I'm busy here. I've no medical
staff, most of them having been kidnapped by the aforementioned Welsh
people and, while I relish the thought of never seeing some of them
again, it DOES make my workload a LITTLE more challenging. This
challenge is compounded by the fact you are about as helpful in a
medical facility as an outbreak of bubonic plague, so for the love of
all that is good and pure in the world, shut up and lend a hand."
*Rustle.*
"Branch, whatever."
Actually, Keto mused to himself, the workload had dropped rather
sharply once the announcement had come over the speakers that
volunteers were needed for a mission to, in effect, kick the crap out
of a load of Welsh people. Visitors had run off to join. Patients
who were still mobile had shuffled as quickly as they could. One
patient who had been in what Keto had thought was an irreversible
comatose state had even leapt out of bed and hobbled away, without
apparently regaining consciousness.
Keto, being an eighth Welsh himself, decided once and for all that he
was never, ever going to mention this to anybody.
With all the hectic troubles of the recent past, Keto had been mainly
stuck in the medibay, occasionally catching a nap when he could...naps
which were uniformly restless, nightmarish affairs. He was looking
and feeling more ragged around the edges than ever before.
If things carried on like this, he knew, eventually the medibay would
simply collapse. Despite his best attempts, he couldn't run it
single-handedly.
Even with the help of a branch.

OOC: Shut up. Shut up shut up shut up. Yes, I know I posted. Shut up.
That said, having been lurking/absent for so long, I'm utterly,
utterly lost. I missed the destruction of Earth. Vanessa
reappearing. Babies. I've missed a HELL of a lot.
A quick rundown (on Parrott's or by email) of the major points that
I've missed would be very much appreciated.
And hi to all the people who've joined since I last posted. Nice to
meet you. ;)
