Who: Rose Garden and Eric Lustbader.
Where: a random corridor
When: after the worm was defeated.
"Well, you gotta hand it to Jack and Callum." Eric said. "They make me
look like a mere 2nd Technician."
"You are..." was Rose's reply.
"I can do more than repair food dispensors. Anyway, Callum is a crazy
Scot, but don't let that fool you - he's really good at his job and a
great Chief Technician. And don't let Jack's appearnace fool you either."
"You mean his countless battle scars?"
"I mean his empty eye socket." Eric replied. "I have seen him fight,
and there is no one who is braver than Jack who has survived what he
has survived."
"I know. I read everyone's dossiers before I joined."
"Oh."
"I think it's about time I introduced you to someone." Rose said to
Eric as they reachde her quarters.
Eric waited outside as Rose went in and brought her baby to him.
Baby Jayson was upset at being woken up by his mother, and she tried
to soothe him.
Eric's heart spewed forth an emotion he had forgotten about since he
had to race of to Ganymede.
Rose passed Jayson to Eric. He held his son, who was still crying, and
tried to comfort him by speaking gently to Jayson. Soon, Jayson
stopped crying and looked at Eric, following his voice.
"It's okay, daddy's here."
Then he passed his son back to Rose and went to his quarters, while
Rose put their son back in his cot.
