This is an untitled post.
Who: Eric Lustbader
When: that night
Where: On his way to hos quarters.
Eric Lustbader was walking to his quarters after a long day of
cataloging the new weaponry and ammo. Feeling really tired, he didn't
notice a strange noise at first. Then he realised it was some sort of
metallic noise. Eric's senses woke up, and he strained his
concentration on the noise.
"Holly, can you pinpoint it's location?"
"Um, it's about 300 metres nort-north-west of your current position."
"Hol, could you just show me a map?"
"I suppose," Holly sighed as he showed Eric the location of the noise.
Eric downloaded the map onto his generic sci-fi handheld technical
gizmo device (GSHTGD tm)and followed the blip on his map to the source
of the noise, drawing one of his .88 revolvers at the same time,
knowing what the null space had done, and may have left an unwanted
present.
He came to the source of the noise, and could hear a repeated metallic
banging and a whirring engine noise.
Eric tried to think of where he had heard that engine noise, and
realised it was of Hymenopterran origin.
He tried to open the door into the large metal walled room, but it was
locked, with a keypad next to the door.
"Holly, can you do the honours please?"
"Sorry, you don't have the authority."
"But it's an emergency!"
"Well, not yet. My files say that it could be Mini-Phil again, or a
drunk grunt who entered the wrong room and has a gigantic hangover and
headbutting the wall."
"What?"
"Well, I'm sorry, you'll have to gain clearance from the captain."
"Phil? Oh smeg, no, it's Jed now." Eric was getting extremely impatient.
"Captain Calvert cannot be contacted right n..."
Eric switched off Holly's monitor so he couldn't see, and opened the
panel of the key pad and used his Generic Sci-Fi Handheld Technical
Gizmo Device to unlock the door and replaced the panel.
"It looks like the door was opened from the inside, Holly, and it
caused some inteference with your monitor."
"Not to worry, it's not the first time."
Eric tried not to laugh, as he and other people had been the reasons
why it had happened before.
Then Eric remembered why he was in this previously before unseen and
unknown room, as he heard the engine and another bang. With this, he
pointed his Generic Sci-Fi Handheld Technical Gizmo Device toward s
the Hymenopterran ship and it told him of one life sign in the ship,
with pale vitals.
Eric re-read the Generic Sci-Fi Handheld Technical Gizmo Device, and
realised it said one human lifesign, and then remembered why he
thought he knew the particular unique sound of this particular unique
engine. He dropped his guns and ran to the small craft, which had been
low on fuel and repeatedly running into the large impervious inner
metal wall and bouncing off, and then running into the wall again.
He pressed a few keys on a keypad on the outside of the hull, being
careful to not be run over.
Then the door swung open, and Eric jumped into the ship. On the screen
was a copmuter warning the unconcious pilot of various immediate
dangers to the ship, but due to low power, damage and other various
reasons, the computer was speaking in slow-mo, like a slowed down record.
Eric switched off the engines, grabbed the computer's disk and picked
up the solitary pilot and carried him out.
"Holly, could you get medi-bay here pronto?"
"Sure. Why?"
"Due to some abnormality with the null space, Johnny's ship had
materialised in a secret room that was surrounded by very thick metal
and without any form of scanners. He's unconcious and his life signs
are low, but thankfullt he's alive and stable."
