Jay entered Parrots along with his sister as Jack gave his speech, and as
Jack finished he led the gathered crowd in applause. Jack, seeing Jay
beckoned him up onto the bar alongside him, and held out his hand to help
him up.
Jay stood next to Jack, while Efof passed him a drink.
"HERE HE IS!" Jack said "THE MAN WHO BOTH LED US TO FIX, AND CAUSE THE
PROBLEM AT THE SAME TIME!"
The crowd began chanting "SPEECH SPEECH SPEECH!"
"Um..." began Jay, "I'm not great at this but....We did it guys! We've been
to the future, we've been to the past. Smeg, we've even been to hell and
back but nothing we have ever seen, nowhere we've been nor anything we've
done can compare to what we've achieved here! Earth is saved! and the Eniram
and Aeron have patched up theri differences to help us!" he nodded toward a
group of the said aliens having a drink together elsewhere in the bar having
come aboard with several civilians who wanted to celebrate with the crew.
"Many were lost, including my beloved wife, your captain Alota Chrysler, so
here's to them."
He raised his glass.
"But, we can't dwell on the past, hell, if we did, I'd not have been given
back my job as Chief Navigation Officer or been promoted to Commander this
morning!"
The crowd cheered.
"And it's my first duty as CNO give Amber Keats back her wings!"
He held out his hand and pulled Amber onto the bar, and pinned the Space
corps pilots wings to her chest.
"Congratulations Lieutenant" he said Saluting Amber as he did so.
"Thanks...wait...Lieutenant?" she checked the badge Jay had just pinned on
her, and sure enough it was bore the insignia for an airborne division
Lieutenant, instea dof her previous rank of ensign.
"You heard me Keats! I'm giving you a promotion, you damned well deserve
it!"

Jack looked up from his desk, where a nice pile of paperwork had
assembled itself overnight.
"hmm?" he asked, his mind was miles away for a second, before he saw
who it was, and leapt up from his chair, hugging her like a long lost
sister...
"when did you get out?" he asked, as they both left his office, and
began walking towards Parrotts. He kept his arm around her all the
way, as she updated him on what had happened.
"well, i'm glad you're out now." he said, smiling as they entered
Parrotts, which was noisier than the clubs right now, everyone
celebrating themselves, and their victory over the Hymenoptera. he
leant over the bar so he could be heard, and yelled into his ear
"double vodka, and a pint of generic beer!"
Amber looked at him with an odd expression, "i thought you didn't
drink anymore?" she asked. He returned a smile,
"i don't, but this is a special occasion." he said, handing her the
small glass. "good to have you back" he said again as the noise
suddenly died down for a second.
"ooh, i have an idea..." he said, and jumped up onto the bar.
He stood there, watching over all of Parrotts, and shouted so everyone
could hear. "Excuse me everyone, can i have your attention please?"
Everyone turned to face him, glasses in their hands, most of them
hardly sober.
"I wish to take this moment to say something, You should all be proud
of yourselves. Together, we have saved Earth from the hymenoptera,
none of this would've happened if we didn't work together like we did.
So... A toast to us all." he said, stopping for a short time, to
take a sip of his beer.
"To Earth, And the Blue Dwarf!" he yelled, holding his glass up high.
Everyone around held theirs up too, as a cheer erupted around them.
Jumping down, he sat on a barstool, and continued to drink.
"To being free?" he asked Amber, holding his glass out.
