**Action** - "New Captain for a New Mission" pt2 of 3
Who: Phil Febuggure, Dean Thomas, Mike Gostuk and the rest of the
Drive-Room crew
Where: Drive Room
When: Few minutes after they got out of `Null space'
Phil ran up to the Drive Room and yelled "Report!"
Eric Lustbader looked confused until Phil asked him again. "Oh sorry,
I thought I was watching an episode of Star Trek or something."
"What should I really say?" Asked Phil.
"Just ask me whats going on."
"Alright, what's going on!" Said Phil, his patience being tried.
"Right, well we're back in the Sol system. And some ship just came and
scanned us, then went off to tell another ship, and they went off to
tell another ship. I think we're big news."
"Really?"
Then a ship advanced on them, it headed in a direct beeline.
"Who's that?"
"It's the Space Corps sir!"
Phil felt nervous. The last time they saw a Space Corps ship, they had
to destroy it.
"Shall I tell Jack's Department to man the turrets sir?" Said Mike
Gostuk from the other side of the Drive Room.
"They're getting closer." Said Mike, looking at his monitor.
Phil felt the sweat beading on his forehead. "Can we get away?
Wormhole drive?"
"Not enough time to charge it!" Said Mike.
"They're opening their weapon ports sir! They're firing!"
Phil gripped the handles of his chair. "Red alert. Prepare weapons!"
A series of colourful explosions lit up the drive room window.
"Hold on
they're not attacking us. Those are fireworks!" said Phil.
"Incoming message from the Space Corps ship sir." said Mike and
patched it through to the widescreen TV.
"This is Captain Baratt from the SCS Victory to the JMC Blue Dwarf.
The Spacecorps welcome you back as the heroes who saved Earth! You've
been mission for so long we thought you were destroyed!"
"We
we're heroes?" asked Phil.
"Yeah, you saved the Earth! You've been in all the papers, UK Living
have even made a low-budget TV documentary about you!"
"Really?"
---------------------------------------------
Who: Captain Baratt from the Victory, Acting-Captain Phil, Jay,
Seymour and senior staff
Where: BD's Briefing room
When: 20 minutes later
The SCS Victory docked with them and the captain was invited aboard.
Seymour the Ambassador obviously loved this chance for a proper
dignitary to come aboard and treated Captain Baratt as a VIP. IE he
acted his smarmiest and whipped some peewee service robots into making
some tea for his guests.
Jay had been asked to attend the meeting, despite his former
chastisement with the Spacecorps, having previously destroyed Earth.
"So who played me in the TV movie?" Jay asked the Spacecorps Captain.
"Your role was a dramatic and romantic one, you were played by the
great great grandson of Tom Cruise."
"Fantastic!" Said Jay. "So what about Amber, is she allowed back in
the Space Corps?"
Captain Baratt looked confused. "Of course, but I wasn't aware of any
subordination on your ship ?"
Phil nudged Jay. "Psst. Don't mention that! As far as the space corps
are aware, she was never in prison!"
"Oh great!" Said Jay. "I'm just
going to
go tell someone
something
she'll be wanting to know!"
Jay left to go liberate Alber from the Blue Dwarf's cells.
"So Captain
" said Phil. "Who's great great grandson played me in the
movie?"
"Oh, erm
Phil Mitchell."
"Phil Mitchell?!!! That's rubbish!"
Mk7 then sprung onto the tabletop and waved his dinky arms around.
"What about me, was I in it?"
"Well they were on a tight animatronics budget, so you were just a
painted dustbin with Steve Irwin's voice."
Mk7 sulked and went back to his seat.
Jay piped up again. "We have Amber Keats in our cells. Has the Space
Corps got any charges against her?"
"Not as far as I'm aware no." Said Baratt.
"Sweet. I'll go liberate her." Said Jay, and left the room to head
down to deck 13.
<OOC So Amber's out of prison time to celebrate!>
