OOC - This is a JP between myself and the good Jay Chrylser... The first in a long tome too....
It's also a back post.
:D
Who: Amber, Jay
Where: Escape Pod
When: Just before they landed on BD
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Amber looked out of the small circular window of the escape pod and
sighed. The idea of going back to deck 13 didn't appeal to her.
"Something got ya down?" Jay asked, already knowing the answer.
"Doesn't it get to you?" Amber asked "Being a wanted man?"
"Course.." Jay said "But I know I'm not guilty, so to me that's all
that matters. Besides you and me just risked our lives trying to undo
what we did under someone elses influence, that's gotta count for
something right?"
"Yea, but... I was guilty in a way. It was me doing those awful things
back then. It was me who killed....." She tailed off, not wanting to
hurt Jays feelings. "Even if I couldn't help it I was still aware of
doing them...." Amber shifted in her seat and
"You were vulnerable, confused, with no idea of who you were or where
you came from." Jay said "You got taken advantage of by the same
asshole who decided to remodel our solar system"
"You mean you?"
"Damn straight" Amber smiled slightly and looked out of the window
again, the big Blue was coming into view and Amber wished she had been
one of the Canaries to die on the Thorax.
"I wish I'd died on that ship.... Anything would be better than going back to deck 13..."
"Don't say that." Jay said sternly "Besides, you saved a lot of people
today. People will see you weren't guilty the first time around" There
was a pause before Amber spoke, and the Blue Dwarf loomed closer in the
window.
"If not, I'm as good as dead now that they all know who I am."
"Phil won't let anything happen to you, he cares about you. Hell we ALL care about you."
"Didn't stop him from locking me up"
"He has a job to do" Jay said, defending his best friend "But it was
him and your mother that helped me cook up this plan to change history,
so that you could go free."
"Don't let them lock me up again Jay. Please. I can't take it." She
turned to look at Jay with a look of fear on her face. "You have no
Idea what it's like in there!"
"I don't know what I can do.." Jay started, he had to look away from
Amber, her expression slicing into him like a hot knife through butter.
"But, I'll talk to Phil...."
"But.."
"BUT, you'll have to be patient...remember, the Corp want me
incarcerated as much as, if not more than you, I try talking to them
directly, they'll laugh me outta the galaxy" Amber cried on the inside.
She was going to be on deck 13 for the rest of her life. Her face
remained blank, the time she had spent in the jail had taught her
quickly not to show emotions to anyone.
"We'll get you outta there Amber" Jay said "I promise"
The escape pod bumped down into the Hanger and was surrounded by security grunts straight away.
"Come on out Mrs Keats. We have you surrounded." Amber glanced at Jay
briefly, showing him a look of sadness and hoping that he would get the
message. The grunts grabbed Amber as soon as she came out of the hatch
and shoved her s the ground, shackling her like an animal they dragged
her away.
