Drowning the sorrows

Who:- Dean "I would" Thomas, Phil, Jay

When:- Irrelevant, we're outside of time.
"Jeez Dean, you really know how to cheer a guy up" Jay said, Sarcasm
dripping from his voice after Dean finished a story about a goldfish he once
owned as a child. He meant to cheer Jay up, after his failed attempt to
rescue Alota, but like a good joke gone wrong, it was all in the delivery
and Dean had lost the story in the mail.
"Dean" said Phil "Stop depressing the entire Space Corp, and go buy your
round..."
"I would..." said Dean "Only the Barmans' turned into a shepherds pie."
"Then go behind and pour it yourself! I'm the captain, noone will chuck you
out!"
"I would..." said Dean "Only the beer taps are tap dancing in the gent's"
"Eh, don't worry guys" Jay said, "I came to terms with her death before the
rescue attempt" Jay said gazing into his pint glass, which had a fully grown
Sperm Whale swimming in it. "Phil's reinstated me as chief of navigation,
and most of all we saved the Earth! I'm happy. Lets just go play pool"
"I would..." said Dean "Only the Pool table's just eaten that man over
there."
"Darts?"
"I would..." said Dean "Only the Dart board's smoking a cuban cigar at this
precise moment."
"Well let's watch the footy then!"
"I would..." said Dean "Only the TV's currently chatting up the fruit
machine."
"Ever the optimist eh Dean?"
"Realist."
"Surrealist is more like it" said Phil "Anyway, I gotta go try and get Amber
pardoned for her alleged crimes for some reason the corp's don't wanna let
her off as easily as they did you." Phil nodded to Jay as he said this,
referring to a conversation he had with the head of the Space Corps'
convieniently aboard one of the Space Corp vessels that had followed them
back through time, Phil had explained why they had come back, and what the
situation was with Jay and he was given a full pardon.
"Yeah.." said Jay "I'm gonna head up to the holo-projection suite."
"What for?" Dean asked
"Holly sent a message for me to go up there...at first I assumed he'd bring
Alota back as a hologram, she was the most important person aboard ship and
the only other holo' aboard right now is Kara, who's self-sustained so it
made sense...'til I remembered that Alota's was one of the 98% of the disc's
destroyed in the battle's..."
"Weird.." said Dean trying to finish his pint.
"What are you doing?" Jay asked when he saw the odd way in which Dean was
drinking. "Drink up!"
"I would..." said Dean "Only my drink's turned into a minature London
bus..."
