Amber groaned as she rolled off the top bunk. It had been a week now since she had come out of solitary confinement for beating up 'Tubbs' as she was so affectionately labeled by the inmates. Tubbs had been sent to the medi-bay for her injuries, and was not too happy with Amber. She had been jumped last night by Tubbs and her cronies and was still in large amounts of pain.
"I think they bust a rib..." Amber moaned collapsing into one of the hard chairs.
"Aye, well Tubby deserved what you gave her. I admit you went a bit over the top, but she had it coming to her." It was at this point that a guard walked in and dumped a case on the table.
"Canary uniform and first meeting information. Don't be late you scumbag." The guard smirked and left. Amber fumed, there was a note on the case which read 'enjoy your doom captain killer' and signed anonymously. "The crew set me up! They want me dead!" She cursed silently in Hymenopterran. A trait that she still carried after being separated from the hive, was that she could still speak Hymenopterran, unlike Jay and Seymour. Maybe it was due to her GELF DNA or a reaction when she had Nanos, the cause was unknown, but it was still a fact.
"Must have hacked into Holly and added your name to the recruit list. Damn, that's fairly harsh. You must'a really pissed 'em off." Stacie said concerned, not hearing the alien curse. The canaries were the suicide squad of the Blue Dwarf, sent in before the main away parties to see if it was dangerous. They were the ones in the true front line when it came to Hymenopterra battles. The Canaries were seen as disposable and were used as such.
Amber lined up with the rest of her squad in military ranks. The acting captain came into the room and addressed the ranks of yellow prisoners. Amber glared at her father, hating him for what he had let happen she felt bitter towards the crew, why had they not locked Jay up as well? It was unfair. She locked her eyes straight ahead and listened to the acting captain, not her father anymore.
