Chrizla thanked the random Drive Room Tech, and thumbed through the
book. He came across two Space Corps Directives:
No. 147: Crew mambers are expressly forbidden from leaving their
vessl except on the production of a permit. Permits can only be
issued by the Chief Navigation Officer, who is expressly forbidden
from issuing them except on the production of a permit.
(So technically, you can't leave your ship. Okay, no biggie...)
No. 723: Terraformers are expressly forbidden from recreating Swindon.
(What the $&"* is up with Swindon?)
These perplexed Chrizla as he was hoping to be able to go out for
drives in his Blue Midget; also he was born in Swindon and had spent
a lot of time there over the years and had felt at home there.
Chrizla left the Drive Room and boarded an XPress Lift, he selected
the Landing Bay so he could join CK, Guinevere and Kara. He was in
the elevator for about 20 mins and then it stopped and the doors
opened.
"OH SHUT UP YOU DEADIE!" He heard someone shout, he ran over to see
what it was all about.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa!" he stopped them, "Now what's going on?"
"She called me a deadie!" Kara complained,
"That's cos you are one!" Guinevere shouted back,
"Stop it, stop it!" Chrizla ordered, "No-one will be calling anyone a
deadie on my watch."
"Who exactly are you?" Guinevere asked,
"Sorry; Chrizla Mundi, ship Defence Officer." He introduced himself,
Kara looked at him with thanks in her eyes, Chrizla noticed.
"So, are you hard-light or soft-light?"
