In the beginning...

Eric woke up in the medibay, with the memories of the Hymenopteran
fleet in his head. He realised he couldn't remember how it ended, or
how he ended up in the medibay.
"Good morning Lustbader." Eric was greeted by an aged nurse.
"Er, we're in space, which means there is no time of day." Eric
replied, suffereing from a massive headache and pain in his chest,
neck and limbs. "By the way, what happened in the battle."
"I don't know," the nurse replied, "they don't tell me these things.
Classified information."
"Well, can you let me go? I really need to know."
"In a minute, as I have to give you a final checkup. You really should
stay in the medibay for another day, but I need a break."
After a few minutes and with a few bottles of medication, Eric limped
out of the medibay.
"Holly, give me a report."
"About what?"
"Well, start from the beginning."
"Okay. It is widely regarded that in the beginning, God created..."
"I'm not in the mood for mucking about, Holly. How did the battle go?"
"Ah, well, you managed to send the bugs through the wormhole."
"That's a relief. What happened to me?"
"Your graviton beam exploded in your face." Holly replied.
"What about the others? Johnny, Dean and Guinevere?"
"Dean and Guinevere are fine."
"That's good. Hey, what about Johnny?"
"Dunno."
"Holly, what do you mean you don't know?"
"Well, after you were knocked out, he put you in a suit and ejected
you into space and flew the shuttle through the wormhole. He was
successful, and the fleet followed him through."
"Smeg!" Eric exclaimed. "We need to use the wormhole drive to go and
rescue him."
"Er, sorry Eric, but that just wouldn't be possible."
"What the smeg are you talking about? I'm sure Phil would try to save
him!"
"It doesn't matter. The wormhole drive is off-line."
"What?" Eric stormed off and headed off to his quarters.
