Dwarven Defenders.
Who: Jack and random other people.
where: here & there
When: now
Jack wandered onto the promenade, looking for security guards that
weren't doing anything, or doing the wrong things...
"Hey! leave him alone!" Jack shouted at someone sporting a security
badge, throwing things at Jay in the EVE suit.
"Make me!" the grunt said, turning to Jack, before he saw the rifle
Jack held, pointed at his head.
"I suggest you leave him alone, i don't get paid either, so now i have
no quarrel with dispatching any defectors!" he shouted, aiming down,
and shooting the floor next to the guys foot. Jack looked over the
balcony, and leapt down, landing expertly next to Jay, and helped him
to pull the rubble from him, even though jay didn't need any help in
the matter.
"Come on man, you deal with that, i'll try and get the external
defenses going again" Jack said, before the shipwide speakers came to
life, with the sound of Callum's voice crackling through it.
"All engineers to the briefing room" was all he needed to hear from a
Holly translation, before sprinting as fast as his legs would carry
him to the briefing room. he burst in, passed the lack of security
stopping unauthorised people from barging in.
On the way past the drive room, he stopped in, for a quick word with Phil.
"Cap'n" Jack said, giving a half assed salute, just to add some
formality to the situation.
"Since we're now basically a warship, I had an idea that it might be a
good plan to have a seperate department for the defenses, the turrets
and everything..." he said, hoping Phil was in a good mood.
Phil looked up from the damage report, his head still in his hand, the
list in front of him used up an entire roll of printer paper, the kind
that has those perforations between sheets, keeping about 100 sheets
together, effectively as one sheet.
"What?" he said, beginning to dread the idea of being captain.
"I think we need to get the defenses up and running, with those idiots
coming after Jay, we need to get the defenses running as best we can,
and that would need training... The security grunts are nothing, with
your permission, i'd like to take some of them, and train them to use
the defense turrets, and other defenses, so we can survive this little
conflict..." he said, standing virtually to attention.
Phil stood up, a smile on his face. "If you can get away with it, do
it." he said, "But i hope you realise theres no budget we can give, no
money to pay people, and only the ones that realise this is for our
survival will help... good luck" he said, as Jack leapt from the
office, and straight into the briefing room where Callum was informing
everyone of the situation.
"Sorry to interrupt." Jack said, looking over at Callum. "Well,
actually, no i'm not... this is important" he added, and sat on the
side of the table, scanning the room for some promising looking engineers.
"Callum old boy, i need some engineers.... say again, i need lots of
engineers. The defense turrets have all but been destroyed, i hope
theres some engineers here that realise the gravity of this, and could
help to sort the situation by fixing them... I realise this is alot to
ask, but its no longer about being paid, but about our survival..."
Jack said, deadly serious, he looked Callum in the eye, with a
sincerity usually reserved for saying 'i love you' to a lover...
Though make no mistake, he most definetely was not saying that...
<taggers! come on people, lets gekigan-in!>
