Some old games have been closed

Arcade machineHey dudes, I’ve been archiving some old games today, so that the list of games only shows current, active games.  The game owners of each game have been emailed to let them know. I’m deleting games that haven’t had a post in at least 3 months, but some of them are even older than that like the crossword puzzles, some not having posts for a year or even 2.

This isn’t a permanent delete, these games can be reactivated if you think the game is worth bringing back. Tbh some of them sounded like they had good ideas for worlds to roleplay in, but perhaps didn’t get the attention they deserved when they were first started. To reactivate a game, email the moderators using this form.

Tib’s Corner – Interview with 1An0maly1, Tech in Games #YeahHesBack

Yeah. Been a while since you've seen one of these, hasn't it? WELL IT'S BACK

Yeah. Been a while since you’ve seen one of these, hasn’t it? WELL IT’S BACK

One of the biggest parts of a roleplaying game is the tech you bring into it. Technology is the big part of the story. Now you may think tech just kind of refers to more mechanical/futuristic technology such as computers. Well any kind of technology really is needed to blend a perfect roleplay. With that in mind, I got in touch with my good friend, Anomaly, Anom, or 1An0maly1 as he’s known on OW. Anom is currently studying to be an aerospace engineer and is currently interning in California. With his background knowledge, I decided he’d be the best person to talk to about this. Read More

Break long chunks of text into easy to read paragraphs

introduce a curvy thing called a comma

This article can be so easily summed up by the title and the comic above that I don’t even need to write anything else. Nope. That’s it.

I love play-by-post games, they’re great. My favourite game, Blue Dwarf (which has been now running for 15 years!) inspired me last year to create a different type of game though. Read More

Canon vs. Original characters

Firefly castI found an article originally posted on Gnome Stew, but definitely applies to our type of text-based roleplaying. It’s a debate between using canon characters (see the definition here), and original characters you’ve made up. SOmething that applies to a lot of people who set their roleplays in an existing world, like Star Wars, Star Trek etc, or Firefly (pictured here) which has a lot of scope to explore the ‘verse without ever mentioning the show’s characters. But isn’t it cool to have crossovers?

See the original article here.
