The price for making your game private has dropped

private sign do not read

Some people might want to make their game private, either for anonymity or to keep your plot secret from prying eyes. Whatever the reason, I used to be asked regularly to add a feature to make a game private to it’s members only. Read More

Make sure your plot has something for everyone to do. Yes, EVERYONE!

child in corner

This is a post for GMs of games. GM is a term from tabletop roleplaying, in OngoingWorlds we normally use the term “owner”, or whomever created the game to start with. Anyway, if you created the game – you’re the GM – the one responsable for everyone else to enjoy it!  Read More

So I created a text adventure

Text adventureOne of the very first computer games I ever played was a text-adventure based on Monty Python’s Quest for the Holy Grail. It was basic, but hilarious.

In the adventure, you had to type “go north” to travel to a different area, and “Pick up key” etc to pick stuff up. It’s dead basic but because it was pure text, it allowed silly things to happen. Like an encounter with the Nights who say “ni”, who say “ni” to you so many times you shrivel up into a pile of bath salts. Read More

Closed games that had good ideas

I let you know recently that I’ve been closing inactive games. Some of these games actually had pretty good ideas, and well planned worlds. So might have become inactive for many reasons, some never made it past a few posts, maybe some just didn’t attract ebnough members, and maybe some were just too complicated.

Here’s some that caught my eye as I closed them, and perhaps we can speculate in the comments about why they didn’t continue, the good news is that I have added new games, and now we can all use these Rise of Kingdoms Guides and Strategies to have some fun.  Read More

Some old games have been closed

Arcade machineHey dudes, I’ve been archiving some old games today, so that the list of games only shows current, active games.  The game owners of each game have been emailed to let them know. I’m deleting games that haven’t had a post in at least 3 months, but some of them are even older than that like the crossword puzzles, some not having posts for a year or even 2.

This isn’t a permanent delete, these games can be reactivated if you think the game is worth bringing back. Tbh some of them sounded like they had good ideas for worlds to roleplay in, but perhaps didn’t get the attention they deserved when they were first started. To reactivate a game, email the moderators using this form.
